    Wanted: Graphic Designer

I need a logo designed, and a flyer. The logo is really the priority though.

Please pm me with your portfolio/price (for logo&flyer).

There's a lot more that goes quoting this than "I need a logo, what's it going to cost"

What is the logo for? An event or a company? where/how will it be displayed and reproduced? What sort of event or company is this?

What is the size, distribution and production requirements of the poster?

I'm a freelance Graphic Designer. I was referred to this thread by my Father, a more active member of these boards. Email me at contact@lunarsolarcreative.com and we can talk.

Winnings - 15%. So it would be 212.50 bucks minus any paypal fees.

pleinski85, I realize how vague my opening post was but I'll be more than happy to discuss specifics with you via email.

We use logotournament regularly- it's great for getting damned close to what you want with minimal risk.

Hey in the logo tournament, can you show them your existing logo and ask for that to be integrated into a new version?

Keep in mind that with something like Logotournament, you are only going to get single-worked submissions from designers willing to do spec work. Most good designers I know refuse to do spec work, and would never waste their time with this kind of design-by-numbers-maybe-I-get-paid game.

Hire a real designer if you want a real logo.

The designers who submit to 99designs.com have done some impressive work. If you can put up 4-500 as prize you'll likely have 150+ designs to choose from. And you can do a lot of back and forth with the guys who put up decent stuff--most of them are very willing to redesign to get closer to what you want.

    Yeah but here's the thing.

I know a lot of designers, and some of the stuff the spec by the job people come up with is just as good if inot better than the stuff my friends who are contracted to major marketing companies come up with.

The thing is design is art. Art depends on the person and inspiration hits every person at a different time.

A lot of graphic artists I know try and make design seem like a business where you pay one thing and get another. But the reality is design is not buisness, it's art. And art doesn't depend on the artist. Art depends on the art!
