I got a set of these Rens through mtnlion last year, and can vouch for him and the shop in Banff. Everything went smooth and shipping was perfect. Top source for Rens IMO.

Until then can someone post a profile pic of the 196? Just want to get an idea of the rocker profile of the 196.
    Google is your friend :-)

Worth noting that the "full pic" taken has the skis splayed out a bit more than reality. Looking at my pair lying against each other it's more like there's about 120cm (roughly) of flat camber underfoot, super mellow rocker in the tail, and medium-mellow rocker in the forebody that gets more pronounced near the end.

    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

call the store, ask for Jason, he can tell you the price, and shipping price.. Odds are the skis are $900, + GST + shipping. Only got one pair, so if you want em, call soon

They are not that huge. I had 186 last season and these look perfect. I am 6-3 175 and they are right in middle on 4frnt chart for sizing. flex is a little less than my old 186 from memory. But these ski so easy I am not worried. Based on Hoji rec I will mount at 92 from tail (-6) with FKS140. This completes quiver. I figure they will be sick for most any day..........

You can definitely see the difference in the tip curvature. The tips look like a big improvement. I wish my 2010 186's had those tips. Let us know how they are!

Whyturn, based on what you're saying about your size (I think we're similar as I'm 6'2 210) and flex I too have decided to pull the trigger.

If they are too big I plan to find you and make you take them off my hands.

I've had my pair for like 3 weeks, but I'm in Tahoe! All we have is man-made groomers. blah.

Still super sexy pair of sticks. Compared to my all mountain ski, the CRJ, they're much stiffer so blasting through crud should be fun!

I'm gonna go cuddle with them. no homo.

Who am I kidding? I'm gay for these skis.

Graphics are very similar but they added trees at the bottom and a 4frnt logo on right top. Colors are more greenish and less bright orange. But they look great and ski even better

Have gotten 4 days on these skis now, and can say that they are my favourite ski I've ever ridden after that amount of time. My current pair of skis was the jj's, and I had a pair of 193 ehps I was rocking before I broke those. Took me about 2 runs to figure out exactly how to stand on these and how to make them turn, but once I did, it was like all the best qualities of the jj's and my ehps had gotten fused together. You can charge so hard because of the flex, but thanks to the reverse camber they're so easy to hop around on and be nimble when you need to be. I've skied some pretty deep snow the last 2 days, pockets of waist deep, and I can say that float is definitely not lacking with these.
I bought a pair from last season, so I do not have the extra cm of tip rocker, but did not find myself wanting more float even once. Maybe my turn style just doesn't demand the same float that some other skiers on this board need. I had them mounted at -6 from centre.
As for skiing style, I had some awkwardness on the first 2 runs because I was trying to drive them, but it didn't feel very natural so I tried just standing centred and basically just pivoting them, and this instantly made them come alive for me.

That's weird, right? Had the same experience....now it takes me a couple runs to adjust to more traditional skis...
    focus.
