    U.S./Euro Exchange Rate

For anyone planning to ski Europe this winter, get ready to bend over because the dollar is DOA.

    1.00 Euro = $1.30 US
You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness, and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer.

Unfortunately, I think in a year or two, $1.30 for one Euro will seem like a pretty good deal.

Last Summit I remember Mr B. Roo and Mr B. Monkey laughing at the $20 Kirkweed VIP parking sign before paying with one of the bills that they didn't use to light their cigs.

Last year was the first ever that my pass for a ski vacation in the US was less than I paid for Europe.

We don't do Euros here in the UK, and the pound isn't faring brilliantly either, so the US looks increasingly good value against Europe.

What is the Sexchange rate there in Europe? Is it measured in transexuals per month or is there some metric conversion that needs to be applied?

1 pre-op is currently trading at 1.42 post-ops although you get shafted if you go the other way.

The US Peso is only worth $1.20 Canadian dollars now, too. That sucks. At the end of 2001 it was up to $1.60

Well if an injective (monomorphic) map has a left inverse and a surjective (epimorphic) map has a right inverse and a bijective map has both inverses, does that mean the salad toss is free?

You can thank W for spending more money we don't have than any president in history.

Additionally, official inflation is over 2%, and real inflation is over 3.5%: how do you feel about taking a 3.5% pay cut every year?

At the end of 2001 you could also sell your website for $250 million.

    Fucker-

I was in Florence, Italy when the Euro was new to the world and $.80 got you 1 euro. I joked at the time that I should buy $1,000 in euros and sit on it. Damn Damn Damn.

    Oh and Freshie-

When I was in London in '95, 1 quid was worth $1.65. It ain't just our currency that is dropping. The Euro is gonna be strong. It just was so new, and this stuff takes a while.

A good idea, but bad execution. The above strategy would result in $625 profit. Instead, with $1,000 dollars you could have opened a margin account on a mini dollar/euro futures contract........in essence buying 50,000 euros. Theoretical profit from this approach: $25,000

Sheeeat, A Euro was had for $.80 USD only two years ago in Cham. Last winter it was $1.28, almost $.50 more per Euro. It adds up when you figure you're gonna spend a grand or two.

I'm sure the Euro's comparative strength will do wonders for the 10.7% unemployment in Europe. Those Euro mfg. goods should be flying off the shelves.

that's how it works right?? right?

If you do your homework you will see that most of these economic indicators have nothing to do with President Bush. I am not defending his political ideology, but the dollar strength has little to do with his policies. The dollar is considered overvalued given the incredible current account deficit (Americans love foriegn goods), but we havent seen a significant corrective fall in the dollar because of huge capital account inflows largely from asian economies (Japan and China) buying up our debt to influence their parity. You could talk about tax cuts, but fiscal policy needs much longer to course through system than monetary. Also, I dont really know what you mean by 'real' inflation...usually things such as GDP are given the term 'real' when they are corrected for inflation. Not try to step on toes.

    Damn Im boring.

Out of curiosity where are the mexican troops stationed that are defending us so we do not have to pay for a military? When was the last time Europe bailed us out? 1790?

    shut the fuck up.
