TR 3 flexes of Bro Models at Mammoth

Skiing is fun. Skiing all day on Bro Models makes it much more fun!
Skiing with other Bros also makes it better.
The weather at Mammoth was not miserable. Sunny all day, cooler in the AM, warmer in the PM. A variety of snow conditions depending on the exposure and time of day.
I started out on the Pro Bros. My friend Doug tried out the Softer Bros. He took a few pictures of me.
Here I am taking the Pro Bros from Gravy Chute to Little Gravy Chute:

I usually keep my skis on the snow and don't jump much. However, the Bros are so much fun I couldn't help myself (they also seem to cushion the landing.)
    Take off:

johannus and James had some time off and stopped by to try out the Bros. We swapped all three flexes. They are both patrollers at Mammoth. I had a great time following them all over the mountain. Having the Bros on helped me keep up. I skied some great hidden little shots that they showed me. I really appreciated the deluxe tour of Mammoth from johannus and James. Big thank yous!
They also really liked the Bros. You can ask them for their impressions. Sorry about a lack of additional pictures - I was too busy just keeping up with these guys having a blast on the Bros.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm totally stoked about the Bros. I guess some of you would like a comparison of the three flexes.
Softer Bro- Easy to turn, more forgiving, better in bumps, still pretty stable at speed, good edge hold.
Stiff Bro - Still easy to turn, slightly less forgiving, more stable, good edge hold. A versatile rewarding ski.
Pro Bro - Surprisingly easy to turn, very stable, excellent edge hold, this ski really wants to go fast. (Faster than I care to at times) If you are going to ski the Pro Bro you had better have big balls and a big breakfast. At least I had a big breakfast today.
Today really confirmed my choice to go with the stiff Bros. I believe that they will suit me the best. If your style/desire is different from mine, I don't think that you could go wrong with the other flexes.
Here is a picture from the lift:

Left to Right - Softer Bro Model Prototype (right ski), Pro Bro Models (extra stiff), and Stiff Bro Model Prototype (left ski.)

A great day with the Bros!

Vets has not been bribed, influenced, or coerced in any way by PM Gear or me. But what a great guy to represent the Bros. Vets - you are so cool to take the Bros out to people. Thanks.

As soon as the next batch comes out of finishing, there will be Bros on their way to Utah, APD. Your special pair is going to come out towards the very end of the 75 being made, but I'm sure TwoPlanker will let you ski his until yours arrive. I ain't skiing until everyone gets theirs first. (That promise has driven me to much cursing and ranting at the shop.)

    Thanks!

I second that Splat. A big thanks goes out to Vets for spreading the stoke on the Bros. He took time out to pick up the skis in Reno and use his free day to ski with us and dial us in.

As for the flex comparisons, I would agree with how he's lined them up. Personally, I really liked the Pro-Bros as the turn initiation was much more sensitive. And as Tyrone mentioned in another post, they are not nearly as forgiving. For a quiver ski I could see getting the Pro-Bros, for more of an every day type of ski the regular stiff is the real ticket.

    Thanks Vets!

splat, i'm ok with that. i kind of figured that you'd want to get the skis out before you do any extra more time consuming tasks. it'll take me some time to mount up all those bindings to the plates anyway. patience is a virtue. now when's that damn snow getting here?

saturday looks better for snow here. forcasts here look confusing. they seem unwilling to commit. red barron, any thoughts?

    Damn Vets,

Did Splat already pass 3 free pairs on to you already for all the repping you have been doing for him?

Can't wait to ski mine. I do appreciate all the hard work you've been doing splat, and I can't imagine how hard it must be pressing all those bro's and not being able to use em.

    Bump.

Hey APD, when you get your Bros, may I take a spin on 'em w/ alpine bindings?

    I'll repay you in kind.

Splat - is it too late to change the flex pattern if we've already sent you an email?

OK, now my Bro Model dilemma -- my current quiver is 185 Salomon Xtra Hot and 190 Gotama (last years -- they never fell apart like everyone elses). Should I:
    a) ditch the Sollys and go with the Stiff Bro for my everyday ski
    -OR-
    b) ditch the Gotama and go with the Soft Bro for pow and crud days.
    WWMD?

OK, so I'm a big fanboy for the old Stockli Asteroids. They bees stiff. Them noodly red buddha Explosivs don't compare.

So I'm thinking, why would I want the extra stiff Pro Bro (or its it Bro Pro?). If they're really stiffer than the Asteroids, which are great for our variable PNW slugsnot, what's the point.

So the rationale is to stick with the simply stiff and assume they'll have a smidge more float for those Silverton dumpage days.

The stiff is so all-around it is insane. Sound thinking, Buster.

I know you have a ton of work today, but is there anyway those receiving this batch can get an email? Kinda curious where I am on the list. I am going to be gone all week, so I dont want to miss my package and have it sent back.

You're 38 0f 60, funken. After sorting, flexing, and setting blems aside, I don't think we'll make it you next week. We'll probably be branding and wrapping all weekend, shipping Monday or Tuesday. But we will be sending an email to everyone who's skis are getting shipped.

    Hicks,

Nope. I prepaid for my Bros this summer just like many others did. I have to give back the pairs of 3 different flexes of Bros when they have completed their demo tour.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday the Bros will be at Heavenly for their opening.
Saturday the Bros will be at Kirkwood.
Sunday's location still needs to be determined.
