I was hoping to get out there while it was still car/truck accessible but probably not gonna happen after this weekend sounds like. I'll just have to rely on other people's sleds from now on Trackhead <ahem!>

Anyway I got my extremo mountain gear in the mail today: axe and crampons, + now have AT boots with Vibram soles all to at least somewhat lessen the pucker factor in places like that
Rides via Polaris for anyone with a Vibram 'soul'.

SWEEEEEEEET! That area is awesome, it looked like you guys needed rock climbing shoes on one section. Did you smear with your ski boots?

I was climbing that shit in my new, stiff Rossi alpine boots (thanks Str8line!) and it was a real bitch. Great for descents, not so great for climbing over rock.

Also, really looking forward to mounting up the Freerides that I just got (thanks again) and using my Alpine Trekkers as wind chimes.

Don't quote me, the altitude was obviously affecting your brain. And if I said, "holy shit, let's nail that 4 foot wide couloir with a mandatory straight shot into a thinly covered talus field" we wouldn't have been talking about this, now would we.

    SUCKER!!!!

    You are the puppetmaster.

I'm headed off to New Orleans tomorrow. I suspect that after a few Hurricanes on Bourbon Street, yesterday on Hayden Peak will seem completely unreal.

    Nice work boys!

And um, upside down guy, no offense intended, but didn't you get the memo? It's been snowing "deep in Tahoe and Utah and 3 inches in Colorado" since the Pleistocene era. You seem to already know that since you typed it, so, uh, why don't you move out of Colorado? Or better yet, I hear it snows a lot in the upper half of Michigan....

Beautiful scenery. When I went to the Unitas I never saw any peaks at all, just rolling hills. Can you sled off of Hwy 150? Just wondering if you could sled to the base of most of those peaks shown. I got an Alta pass this season and still have a sled, so I'll be up in around somewhere over down in there starting in December.

Yeah, you're right. Just rolling hills, no real peaks to bag. It's actually quite a bit like driving across North Dakota.

You can sled 150 but not a ton of stuff off the road is legal because of wilderness boundary. Not really sure where the boundary is, but just using the highway for access is adequate.

Two....i think you were high, 10,000 feet high, when you heard Track say..."yeah, the choke looks like four, three feet to me." Not forty feet. Gotta turn down the thumping of your heart. Nice shots by the way.

We are having techinical difficulties at school so I cannot upload my photos right now. i do have the 'hero' shot of you just before it all went wrong. And osme other nice ones as well
