Thumbs up The "Adventure Film Works" guy

Duane Kubischta He used to post up on here, to publicize his showings. EDIT: HE WAS DWANIS ON HERE

    (below from 2008)

Duane Kubischta has been making ski films for the last three years. His films are unique for bringing deeper story and character development into the ski action catagory. This has been recognized by his films being accepted into many film mountain festivals, including the Banff Mountain Film Festival in 2006.

Duane has also produced and directed several commercial projects including Hotchkiss Summer Portals overview, PanOptx sunglass product training video, a League to Save Lake Tahoe fundraising short, and Sierra Avalanche Center fundraising event commercial. Footage has been contributed to several other projects including: The Skiers Podcast and Alison Gannett's Chasing Glaciers expedition.

In the future, Duane plans to get more involved in adventure, environmental, and documentary filmmaking, and especially with projects that combine all of these aspects: environmental adventure documentaries. His passion for the environment has been building since childhood, but has only recently taken a more fevered pitch.

He seems to have disappeared without trace...
In '08, at the Bezerkeley showing of AK The Hard Way, he said he was giving up filming, and getting a real job.
He was really good at getting the music to match the visuals, and have a subtle "flow", and plot-wise, he tried doing something a little bit different, not just the same old, same old...

Agreed, IDEA is still one of the top if not top ski movie's in my opinion. Obviously the skiers in it helped but it was really well done and every time I watch it I wanna ski pow. Idea started the no poles and switch back country drops with a sick sound track. Eric has my vote but I imagine he has something better going on.

    really good song

fuck that... Athan needs to stick it out on his own, he's way too talented to go work for someone else. Tis better to be the windshield rather than the bug.
