^^or, a traverse that gets to some of the best steep skiing at alpine when the other steep skiing is closed.

I hate that traverse... its more dangerous even than the low beaver track!

nothing like straitlining outta keyhole and some joey cluelessly skiing under you

I always wondered what that cut under keyhole was about. Now I know.

Haven't had a chance to jump on Sunday till now, but gotta say... you Kirkwood skiers on Sunday were friggin maniacs.! Way to straightline and huck it like it was all over..I hang my gear to dry for the year as a knee surgery scheduled since Jan. is coming up this Friday...Met a whole bunch of you Mags finally this year and had a blast getting to meet and ski with you all!

42 days grinding it out back and worth working for and riding on the Bay Area Ski Bus all while waiting for surgery... suck my balls rich boys!!

    See you all next year!

So we didn't get a freeze last night and it's not looking so great for the rest of the week either definitely want to use caution on the steeper aspects. We pretty much made a wet slide mess of the comma, the mellow slopes below still skied nice though, time to start thinking about getting higher down south.

ummm cirque on a no freeze day ... yeah I wouldn't recommend that one having snowboarded out of Carnells(?I think?) - which never gets any sun in the lower gut of the main couloir - into a pretty big debris field from the hanging fields up top and also starting a wetslide landing off Embryo Kodak last May with Ottime.

I'm heading up to North Lake this weekend. My ski lease ended last week, so probably staying in Kings Beach at ski club cabin. I'd love to find someone to share gas costs, and you're welcome to stay at the club cabin with me - your cost $25/night. Leaving from Peninsula either Thursday or Friday. Return Sunday after skiing Alpine. PM or email me if interested.

I gotta agree with that one. I drives me nuts coming down Key Hole or High Yellow Face and all of the sudden soemone comes out of the forest on a traverse and doesn't look up.

GiBo it's probably way to early in the season for that, just a guess.

I know there's still tons of snow, but sometimes it gets melted out just enough to camp back by the creek. Was hoping that was the case.

I personally haven't been out there since Easter Sunday, but when we did this we were basically skinning from the car at the FS road turnoff just east of Stevens, and that's 200 feet lower in elevation than Forestdale, which is also north facing.

Sorry if I lead you astray Court, was all set to ride the bike today, woke up and saw that it got a little cooler than I expected last night, did a mini tour and all was good.

nice corn ja! Glad to see you're healed and givin er on a nice steep fun looking line.

Got to hand it to radiational cooling and nice winds to get a good corn freeze going.

Nuthin' but smoothness on/in Sun Rise Bowl today, though it was pretty milked out. Got a nice view of Negro Canyon/Upper Gregory Creek area from the back and there's still some sweet lines to be had out there.

Cool Alpine Meadows on Sat 5/7?

Cinders & me (and the SkiBus) should be at Alpine on Saturday (lifts from 8:30 to 1:30 ).
I'm pretty sure Splat, and Sinecure will be there.
Any more of you Bozo's planning to show up? Any Fancy Dress shenanigans planned?
