couldnt get it to paste but the cam for 89 at squaw is awesome(especially if youre over 500 miles away)

if you didnt know the route, youd never think there was a state highway they were driving on. looks more like some farm market road in oregon.

Technically they are closed due to high winds and increased avalanche danger...

Tahoe/Donner, however, is open Top to Bottom today!

Hmmmm .... with all this snowfall I wonder if the low elevation lesser skied resorts that actually still have some steep fun features left (and not totally buried) may be a good call for the weekend. You really got me thinking 'bout a change in plans mike.

Local Sacto weather (Eileen Javora = nice tits) says 2ft more on saturday plus 8 or so inches today. 80 is not supposed to open until at least noon. Sunday?

6 listed as open at Kirkwood. Ski patrol was trapped there last night so that sometimes works out. Go get it!

Sure. Both nothing is groomed off 6 according to the report, so it must kind of blow.

Back is feeling better by the day. I just hope Monday does not get too warm.

OMG, Squaw Valley is reporting more snow than Alpine?? Everyone knows that Alpine gets more snow than squaw. Oh and how is KT open but Alpine and Sugar Bowl are closed. Those squaw people must be smokin the wacky tobacy!

Telemike- That is an awesome pic.

How does this winter compare to other Tahoe winters? Several resorts over 700 and it keeps dumping. These nightly totals are insane.

Sugar Bowl is not taking the KW approach. They don't want to turn and spend money on operations for the 73 people staying in Norden, as it says on their website that they are "saving the powder" while 80 is closed. I wonder if the drive up Old 40 is even open - that bridge must be super sketchy today.

Curious - anyone scrapping KW plans in favor of something more wind protected? Assuming Alpine folks will check it out and go to Homewood if it makes sense

Well looks like they tried to open 80, but then there was a snow slide. 50 seems to be open with no restrictions.

I 80 was "closed" at gold ranch westbound according to Ctrans & Ndot this morning and even on the signs on the freeway. I drive up at 7:30am anyway and they were letting cars through, lol. 4th chair on red dog. 3x's I 80's been "closed" at gold ranch and 3x's I was let through this year. Dead tree and dead garden/saddle cliffs got better and better as the day went on. I'm fucking tired from riding pow every fucking day. FML
