While I would generally be so inclined, we were planning on making a level above just a wood teepee from branches. More like a small building around 500-800 square feet. So if we spend all our savings on supplies and then the forest service comes and is like what the fuck are you doing that would be really shitty ahah.

don't know yet. it's coming with a high snow level which is great news for dealing with that ice layer up high. hate to have a persistent problem at the bottom of the pack.

Just started dumping in SC. Bring in the cake. My next window is after the 14th. Go get some, and test that interface

PD. At what elevation did that ice layer form?

did y'all see the car and pickup pulled over by CHP and Eldo Co. around 5pm near the bug station? 2 trucks of 1 or 2 officers at each vehicle, all with guns drawn and covering the drivers as I drove by gaping wtf?

10:30 AM PST, Truckee (TD) elev 6700 ft here @ mi casa it is officially DUMPING out right now. Big, fat flakes raining down. Great base-building stuff.

Drove down to WC to grab some coffee, and snow turned to slushy rain about half way down. Whoo hoo.

    KB, not KW...

I could do Carson, but I'd need to stop and get a Sno-Park pass along the way. It wouldn't be a dawn patrol. I'm thinking of farting around out towards Red Lake Peak. Nothing big - a little tour, a few turns.

dont know about that 18-24 inches though. i'm thinking 3-6; but looks like tahoe has finally cooled down enough the next decent storm should drop 2 feet without even trying.

I might end up waiting until Wed - looks like more snow Tues - a little time and some new snow on top of today's snow can't hurt - I've got plenty of cutting, splitting, stacking, raking and burning to do

also thinking of taking Owen to Boreal Tues or Thurs - they say they're reopening on Tues - the kid's been pestering me about getting out on the snow - 3 months off snow and he gets itchy, just like me
