Sorry guys. The wine I hauled up ran out before the summit. I'll have to bring a pony keg next time.

Got any pictures of the Melon man?

Pabst Blue Ribbon? F@#k that sh!t!

Seriously, y'all forgot your "summer beer." I mean to have truly been in the spirit the least y'all coulda lugged and slugged were those commemorative Budweiser cans (which, btw, work excellently as a broken ski pole splint once cut up into strips and duct taped in place...)

Often an excellent line. And definitely some of the best stuff open this weekend.

Bummed that the only maggots I ran into on the hill this weekend were Dook and Sinecure. Spats was looking for me, but we never crossed paths. And of course, it's hard to miss Turx. Not sure how that happened.

Dookey saw me on Saturday, when I was hurting bad -- felt like I couldn't buy a turn. I thought it was just the couple months of rust, but when I started booting up on Monday morning, I realized that when I swapped my Intuitions for the ZipFits on Saturday morning, I neglected to move my footbeds. I'd skied all day on Saturday without them. D'oh!

Despite the blisters, I skied bell to bell on the Fourth and had a blast playing with the 191 Wrenegades and 181 Jeronimos that IggySkier was kind enough to send my way. The Wrens were definitely the hit of the weekend with the big, aggressive skiers I leant them to. Hopefully they'll turn into some orders.

A great way to close out the lift-served season. I think I'm ready to put summer wax on the skis and retire the Dalbello Protons while I wait for the Fischer Vacuums to come to Start Haus.

hit up Alpine Meadows this past weekend - it was super fun, me and my tele bro hit up a lot of nice chutes

we tried the tele knee brace cam - but the video is way too shaky so darn!

Got a nice upper body tan

    Saw some mags out too!

I just turned 40 and this past season was the best ever! Total effing stoke.

I saw some patrollers bombing around on the Wrens and Jmos on Monday. Looked like they were having fun to me.

Managed to drag Flexon Phil out to Donner Pass today. We hiked up a bastardized version of the PCT and crested Mt. Judah. While hiking up we saw what looked like a B-52 bomber drop in low over the meadow between Sugar Bowl and Soda Springs and then disappear behind Royal Gorge. Never heard the engines and it was seriously low. We actually stopped for 10 minutes and waited for an explosion and flames to occur, but the never did. Ripped a line back there facing Donner Lake, then boot-packed back up to the Drive-In Movie Theater Screens on the Sugar Bowl boundary line. While booting up we heard numerous explosions, which we surmised might be the construction of the new lift at Northstar (either that or somebody has started bombing to put in the lifts for the Squaw/Alpine merger...). At any rate, we ripped another pitch above and to skier's right and out-of-bounds of the Judah Chair and then skated and side-stepped back to the bowl above Poop Chute. Ripped that leisure line and then I drug Phil through the sphincter of the Poop Chute (okay, I went first and set-up to photo slut, but still...). The snow up high was full-on Vince Vaughn. The Poop Chute was chunky and firm and was seriously in need of a colon flush, but it was still a good time. Capped it off with Mirror Ponds and PBR's on the Pass.

We saw you twice, from the lift. Once skiing under Roundhouse in the am, and once under Summit in the pm, just as you were answering your radio.
    I think I saw Vets ??
Wish we'd skied more than the one day.

tahoearmada and i saw sinecure up there on saturday.... enjoyed some surprisingly good snow all over the mountain....
we went from 8-10 and after that the snow needed gravy so we left and went to the beach....
was a really fun last lift served day of the season for us.... now it's hiking/sledding to get to the goods!

StartHaus has a great consigment sale over Labor Day Weekend, bring them over then if they don't sell after that you could donate them. Some Mags did pretty well with the sale last year.

Talked to Baby J yesterday. He is recovering fast, doing well & is still planning on attending the Red Bull Powder Disorder in Argentina in Aug. He seemed pretty amped up @ the chance.

Well on my way. Doc says no running, snowboarding, softball till @ least Sept. I have been able to get out & smack whitey (golf) around a little. hopefully i can get some patch riding in sept. Just waiting for the snow to melt out @ Kwood so i can go remove the unneeded obstacles that caused this.

Hows the little one? getting any sleep? You need anything, i have tons i'm trying to get rid of.

Heard tell that they were giving out free beer and watermelon at the top of Chair 2 at Donner Ski Ranch today. That might just seal them as the coolest Tahoe ski area in my book.

JLA415 with a free beer and Donner Lake View

The owner, Marshall Tuttle, told us he had moved snow for 5 hours yesterday to cover three runs. DSR is definitely owned by soul skiers, although Marshall was on a monoboard today. Will be back tomorrow for sure. Hope to see some other mags as JLA415 is on some other mission tomorrow.

DSR is a long time favorite in my book. I'd love to go, but not sure I can rally. Anybody heading up from the south/east bay want to haul my carcass?

Spent the day near the death ride, skiing the north side of Ebbetts Peak. Every lap was better as we smoothed the sun cups. Dunno if it ever goes from the top, but from the east shoulder to the reservoir skied nicely. Somebody built a kicker into the lake... next time.

Glad to hear that Ebbetts is still going good. Do you know if Highland Lakes Road goes through yet? Folger Peak was looking great when I was there two weeks ago.
