Kirkwood was fukking great today. The Saddle was just loaded with fluff. The slot skiers left of Hell's delight is buried and all the way out it was bottomless pow. otto parts and I hit maggot chute. A lot of airs are buried and new faces to ski that are usually rock are popping up. What an impressive Miracle March.

shizwood was off the hizzook today. backed out of heart chute to start the day. but some other folks hit it and i told them i'd put their pics here.

the top air was rather large

    and the landing was unsoft

turns out the walls on the exit air were unsoft too

and here's one of Rose going huge off Ski School/Jims

Man those pics look brutal. That line always looked like a good way to break knuckles to me.

The pine was pretty ridiculous today. Never done laps on Sherwood cliffs before to start a powder day. Was a good choice! Buttress is just filled in silly now. Keyhole was snowboard proofed to start the day. Fucking skiers

My first lap at Squaw Saturday coming down the pitch below Alternates, I had to dig a lady out of the deep who had fallen awkwardly and buried her head below her feet. No slide or slough, she just kinda fell headfirst, probably went over the handlebars, and couldn't get herself out. By the time I got her face cleared her lips were slightly blue but she came to right away and ended up skiing away smiling shortly after.

The scary thing is she seemed to be a totally competent skier who'd been in snow like that before, and simply fell the wrong way in deep snow and couldn't help herself.

Guess you just never know. Ski with a buddy, and keep an eye on yo peeps!

Here's a little stoke from today.

It was well-earned indeed. (Embedding is too hard, and sorry for the idiotic, mouth-full-of-granola-bar commentary--I can't figure out how to edit videos or anything.)

I got buried up to my neck in the trees under alts on Saturday, could have been real scary if I was upside-down. In more positive news, today was all-time AGAIN!!! got granite and reverse in the am, lighttowers was unbeliveable. In the pm I went over to alpine and hit the deepest lines in the castle and bloody knuckles ever. Waist deep on everyturn. I hit a few small drops (20 footers) and bombed in upto my arms. One of my best days for terrain slayed.

Kirkwood did not suck today. Many highlights but a real third person highlight early in the day on once with FranklezZ, powdork, Ottimes, and MashPotatoes. Some guy rolled into once from 20 yards up towards Hearts entrance and sent a 50 footer and cleared the whole chute... not sure who it was. Ottimes may have a pic or two to post depending on how they turn out.

It's nice hitting both resorts in the same day. Forgot about bloody knuckles until I drove out today! Fuuuck.

After hitting up heavenly and sierra 4 days in a row last week my season is cut short due to these bad boys being removed from my leg. It was a good week of skiing though.

Skied the KW southern annex (Bear) over the weekend. Started Friday skiing with my 4yo nephew who took me from Super Cub straight on down Snow Valley (!). He's becoming a little ripper. Saturday and Sunday, the kids stayed in the cabin. As elsewhere, ridiculous pow was had - again and again and again. We tried hard, but could not pack it down or wear it out.

On Sunday, I set off a small soft slab ~8 inch crown, 30 feet wide ran 50 feet. Didn't see it until I was riding the lift looking for my line. Twas a small rollover, near the bottom on the backside, and skied great. However, it makes me wonder if I've previously skied out of similar sluffs, unaware.

And Oleta Adams was no doubt thinking of slaying mad gnar when laying down that track with Roland and Curt.

climberevan - That video of JT attempting to break trail is insane (I think that's JT?). When that dude can't move uphill, you know it's deeeep.

That's actually Patches, but JT and Gimpy were with us too. The trailbreaking has been a bit much lately, but yesterday was a standout. I stopped filming because we were all doubled over laughing at the absurdity of it all. We did make it up, and the down (several laps) was awesome.

JT only ascends directly fall line. If you watch closely you will notice his feet don't move; he is propelled by magical means.

    KW has been good recently.

FranklezZ says, let's drop into Once.

Like lemmings, they go. MashedPotatoes follows.

    Driver, drives.

    Meanwhile, some were going big.

Across the way, powdork searches his soul.

That rock across from Kodak goes.

    Send it!

    Cause the landing is fluffer.

Still, it kind of sucked, cause it is so flat and there is nothing left to jump. Vista, obviously, sucked.

    Actually, so did Pali.

Spent my back on a little turn. Resting it up today, but doubt I'll get out till after this cycle is over. Just curious how much sun damage will happen before next Tuesday. Can't really complain, as it has been so good.

Ottime - nice shots! Looks like it was super good yesterday. Did the guy in the blue jacket stomp his entrance? Looked pretty big. Stuck in the city for a couple days. might have to do another day trip.
