goddamn! why am I stuck behind a computer with a whopping 28k connection?? Grr...
And why didn't I know about and/or go to either the Paramount or Fillmore (ahh, venue of my youth!) shows?? WHY????
Word from a friend is that they totally rocked Portland and encored with "don't fear the reaper"!
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

So these guys are playing in SLC on the 22nd. I've heard a lot of their stuff, and a lot of my more artsy friends will be going I'm sure, but are they really worth the $20? You gotta understand the only shows I'm used to shelling out for are along the lines of the Dead, Medeski martin and wood, or the occasional reggae act. Are these new folk/indie rocker fellows really all that?

    Wilco in SLC?

I'd go. Important to support quality acts that decide to make the SLC stop, not many do.

gramps, I'd pay $50 to go see them. And that says a lot. $20 is usually my max for any show. I was so blown away when I saw Wilco two years ago in LA. I've always liked their music, and figured the concert would be good (especially since the ticket was free). But I wasn't expecting that. I had no idea I would walk away thinking it was one of (if not the) best shows I've ever been to.

yeah, go see /em! $20 is a bargan! and yes, their encore was "don't fear the reaper" by BOC....classic! in my humble opinion, wilco and tweedy are probably the most creative american band goign at the moment....they continue to evolve from album to album.....their new sound is like radiohead meets neil young meets the VU....amazing stuff. go see 'em!
