    I cant ski w/o a backpack on.....weird?

    anyone else experience this problem?

i skied about 75 days last year with a backpack on, and now i just dont feel right without it...like i cant ski as well.....i guess my balance got used to it...

so even if i am just running laps at a resort i throw it on with just a nalgene or something in it, to feel normal....

same here, can't go without the pack, and plus since i usually carry water, if my backpack is missing I miss having to stop and piss every couple runs, and it's hard to go without that feeling of "hmmm, I might piss myself if I don't land this." It's great motivation not to fall.

    Ahaha

I've always said it's good motivation to get to the bottom faster. But then again I'm not as accomplished at pissing off the lift as my riding buddy

I've never boarded without a backpack on either... Of course I've only gone in the back country, but when I go to the resorts I'm going to have to put on a pack. I definately feel uncomfortable just thinking about not having one on.

    cool shit brah

yeah, it was a real gaper move getting out of an unskiable line (at the time)...i scoped it before hand and it looked fine, but when i dropped in my sluff pulled the cover off the rocks in the center....no way out...

i guess the "cool" thing to do was try to straight line it over the rocks, land in the 6 inch base going 35 mph and probably break some bones on the way down...EARLY SEASON GNAR BRAH!

i wasnt in the mood to end my season on the 3rd or 4th day....so i guess using your brain is now considered a gaper move?

No, but thinking you can't ski groomers without a pack on qualifies.

Skiing without a bckpak does feel weird, but so does skiing without a beacon....I did a few runs at SSv the other dy with no pack and didn't wear a beacon all day...just fel wrong...I suppose it's what you get used to I guess or where you normally ski....having spent 3 winters in a place where packs and avie gear are virtually mandatory to skiing inbounds on a hardpack day would make a few differences...miss my camel back most though

Think I agree with the back pack thing... It's not that I can't ski or anything, it's just a comfort thing. Plus I suppose it makes a great ghetto spine/tailbone protector - esp. with a shovel blade in it.

Having a pack on w/ all your gear at the resort certainly makes it easier to look rad in the lift line.

I am the anti-rad. I HATE skiing or boarding with a pack on.

I'd ski naked if it weren't for the shrinkage factor.

    Ok Everybody, do this:

Re-read this entire thread and replace the word(s) backpack or pack...with hard-on.

Sharp blades and bits and hard-ons don't go well with each other. Unless of course, you're into that kind of thing.
