TGR Forum LinkedIn Group for job seekers/offerers

FYI, there's a group on LinkedIn for TGR Forum Maggots. Search TGR Forum Maggots and you should find it. Be patient if you are awaiting approval to join the group. I only check it once in a while. Or PM me if you are getting antsy.

Feel free to request a connection to me once I approve you as a member - I'm listed as the 'owner' of the group.

I think this may work as a link to the group page. YMMV

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

FYI, the group is up near 200 members. Not just for job seekers. Also good for general networking outside of TGR. Of course you'll never know who is who since screen names don't match real names very often.

Bump, are folks here active on LinkedIn these days?
Are subscriptions beyond the basic worth it?

LinkedIn is probably worth paying for if you need to do a lot of networking for business. For instance, headhunters, researchers, active job seekers, etc. For just basic business networking, I'm not sure I'd pay for it unless my company was paying.

The TGR Forum Maggots group is getting bigger. We're up to 320 people.

I'm reasonably active on there, but don't pay for it. In my industry (engineering), there are some good news and discussions in the groups.

If I was in HR or unemployed, I'd probably have a different opinion (depending on the industry).

Just saw this for the first time, and I have to say: very interesting to see other people in my industry who are on here. Pretty sure I've talked to a few of you in the work-half of my life.

I removed myself from that group, decided I did not want a link between my employer, co-workers and TGR. (Two differnt worlds)

Just sent in a request to join the group. I should be posting up some industry related IT positions within the week.
