    One More Flex

I know it might seem like we've been pokin the pooch about getting the Bro Models in the mail, but we've been working through some issues, as well as adding one more flex to the mix - yes, the Super Stiffie is back. Call it the Bro Pro or the Pro Bro or whatever, but we've come full circle back toward one of the first prototypes we did at Hood on the Fourth of July.

What we have created is a third flex, very stiff, on the same body as the soft and stiff Bros by adding heavier fiberglass to put some major beef in the Bros so we could offer a ski comparable the stiffest boards on the market. We've been keeping it hush-hush until testing was completed, but we are now letting the cat out of the bag. We're not trying to complicate the decision-making process for any of you who have already chosen stiff Bros, but we have some guys who've ordered who compete or do major big mountain descents and really want a stiff-ass ski. So we built it for them and anyone else who thinks they can handle it. Actually, it's the ski Tyrone skied on at Alpine last weekend.

To compare: it's as stiff as the W105, not quite as stiff as the original super stiffie skied at Hood, and quite comparable to the Legend Pro. I'm passing off a demo fleet of Bros to Vets tonight because he's skiing all the time all over the Sierra and I'm tied up on making and shipping skis and have vowed not to ski until that task is complete. So, if you want to try all three flexes, try to hook up with Vets as he makes his rounds. Thanks.

Thank you. That makes it unanimous.

Serial numbers will indicate soft or stiff - still working on a marking for the super stiff version....

of course, i have never flexed a bro, i'm trying to jog splats brain in to remembering that night.
Yeah, sure.....the last thing I remember is stepping out onto your porch. Then waking up in Seattle.

Dude. Don't you know you can get Viagra in a mello jello cool whip applicator?
You blow the wind, we'll fly the kite. Just let us know. Delivery timeframe for any ski chosen should not vary more than a week in any direction. The batch that was pressed over the last four or five days is now getting finished.

It's hard to say for sure LM, as I have only skied/flexed the original super stiffy--the very first proto--and not the Bro Pro, which splat says it a bit less stiff than the original. I would rate the original super stiffy at around 280 on the iggy flex scale, about the same as a XXXX, slightly stiffer than the M103 (!) But even though I initially thought it was way too stiff and that I wouldn't like it, it was surprisingly forgiving for such a superstiff ski--although I still will be sking the regular stiff bros. Mtbakerskier was in love with the original superstiffy though, and he weighs significantly less than me, so it's all personal preference really. So if the Bro Pro is a little less stiff than that (splat says about like the w105), then I might guess around 270 iggyflex. But it's just a somewhat edumacated guess...The iggies i have owned have usually been around 260 flex, hence I am choosing the regular stiff bros. I think the bros are unique in that despite their softness relative to some of the other big mountain skis (w105, stocklis, LPs), they are extremely stable and thus allow you to get away with a little bit softer flex than usual IMO.
Feel free to PM if you would like to be confused further.
Lane - totally missed your post/question until now.

Natty - good guess. I have such ultra-limited Iggy flexing experience by comparison -and would love to understand how Adam's measuring scale is calculated (maybe during the Summit we can drop by) - but my guess when talking to Vets tonight was 250. And I pulled that number outa the blue, but as far as measuring goes, it's somewhere between a tablespoon and a heaping tablespoon. In other words, without whatever device measures that flex, I feel pretty sure it's in the range of 250-270.

Eggsackly. We don't expect a whole lot of people to want to make the step up to these wickedly high-strung biatches, so unless contacted, we'll just ship the flexes ordered. The supa stiff is one hell of a ski that demands you constantly be one hell of a skier.
