Check.
I'm looking into AT stuff too. Just got a pair of Diamir AT bindings with brakes as a gift from my GF, now I need something to put them on, and AT boots to go with it...
I'll be listening in to any further conversation. In an ideal world, I'd find a used pair of AT boots (8.5/26.5, thanks for asking) and get some new Bdel Havoc's and mount 'em up, but that may not be in the "budget" for this year...
Sugar Daddy's w/Trekkers, just need to find some fat (cheap) skins. Could be a little on the heavy side(?)

Good start. Don't forget your tranciever, probe & shovel.
You are what you eat.

ianvunguyen@earthlink.net if interested.
I'm looking at some of his other stuff, so I won't give out the source, but since these are almost right for you and a killer deal that I can't use, dig in.

Cool, I'll check into it. Those look like they would be perfect - thanks for the heads up...
Go for the TeleDaddys instead. No Atomic binding plate crap to deal with.Originally posted by Keoni

I'm so gonna use jaks for my AT setup, they are super light, and exatly the same as the mothership only lighter and a bit softer, they should be great for backcountry though, and I got my PEs for lift served so things are good![]()
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care
i don't get why you need super light skis when touring, they are always full of snow and heavy, i don't think its a few ounces that will make the difference. my xplosv+freeride setup is pretty kewl
shut up and ski
as well as an avalung, a set of etries, some knife blades, and a cell phone.Originally posted by Beaver

I'll tell ya why... two day trek up to the snow line. (that would be a capital period)Originally posted by dude_le_skibum

Give me a beat to pump to fatty.
A few ounces won't. Pounds will. Add up Mira's instead of xplosiv's, dynafits instead of freerides, and AT boots instead of downhills and your talking serious weight.Originally posted by dude_le_skibum

Light vs Heavy:
Are you touring to tour and doing multiday stuff? Then you should be looking for light skis and not freerides, but titanal 3s, silverettas, or maybe dynafit (i'd personally buy the titanal based on reputation).
Freerides: Well proven bindings. Also consider the Naxo binding distributed by BCA.
Naxo bindings... full alpine toe piece and heel piece. din 12. cool walking thingy. seem bomber. I think they will win out in the long run. I wrote up some observations in the tech section here... you can also check out the detailed discussion about the Naxos and the Freerides vs the Naxos in that other place's tech section.

G-Ride /w G-Fit: I have these... haven't ridden yet... hope they stiffen up in the cold some or I'll have to mod them.
Tranny, probe, shovel: DAMN WELL BETTER but he knows that... right?

In any case, I'm going to be borrowing some skis and sending these bindings in pretty soon.
Soooo, if you get the freerides, don't just jam the bar down, like I do.Must clean out all the snow/ice first. YMMV

sound like the freerides or the naxons will be a good choice but will tankers be too stiff?
sounds like a real good set up for "extreme" skiingOriginally posted by SheRa

Hey, I gave you that info last year.
Just talk to customer service at Black Diamond. You'll definately get more with sugar. Be honest about what happened and they'll hook you up. They might suggest replacing the heel piece and the back piece of the bar the interfaces with the heel.
