talked to mucho Alta 'trollers today and we're gonna be lucky to be riding the new lift by turkey day, plus they're not sure if they're gonna let us ski the frontside until it is done - huge liability issues.

don't give me the "weather excuse" crap either; alot of other rumors I've heard substantiate the title of this thread - I just hope in their "rush" to get it done that something huge is not overlooked and serious injury or death results.

Here in Nevada we're in the same dilema. At Mt Rose, CTEC/Dopplemayer and Mt Rose are putting in a new high speed six-pack and moving the old CTEC fixed grip quad into "The Chutes." Mt Rose opened Thursday on the Mt Rose side only, mostly groomed terrain but decent pitch, excellent coverage and snow quality, Tahoe's highest base. "The Chuter Chair" doesn't have the chairs on it and at the new six-pack they're still finishing the upper and lower terminals and the chairs and pulleys are stacked in the parking lot awaiting assembly. There's plenty of snow for the Chutes top open. They tell us Thanksgiving all should be complete. There will definitley be some issues with the six pack running smoothly at first. I remember when the CTEC six-pack was put in on the Mt Rose side. I spent more than one time on a 20 minute delay while they scratched their heads or what ever else they may have been scratching.

No where near the same importance as the new alta chair, but dopplemeyer is way behind schedule on replacing the noob chair at pcmr as well. They haven't even put in the top terminal yet, not sure how it's going to be open by Thanksgiving. This shitty part is all the beginers are going to be forced over to Payday which already gets enough traffic.
