    3 character search question

Now that things are running great and real fast (thnxbytheway!) could we please move the search function down to three characters? It would be sick, and keep dumb JONG questions like this to a minimum.

    thanks

    Exactly

I meant to say that last night, but words don't always come out clear and concise at 2am loaded up on Switchbacks and trainwreck

I get stuck in search all the time Trying to figure out how to reference something. ...Thank god NSFW is four letters!

    Hear Hear!

Spacing on what it was right now, but wanted to search for something the other day where 3 out of 4 words were only 3 letters long. Got what I needed through the goggle back door, but that's a pain in the ass (as back door's often are )

This has been asked for a ton of times. And over the past years, none of the admins of the time felt under 4 letters was necessary. It's not like they are doing it just to fuck with you it is a matter of the less amount of letters able to be searched for increases the size of the search index and it increases the size of the database. Smaller more common words take much longer to search for an bog down the system.

If the webguy looks at the internal workings and OK's the major increase in database size, I have no problem reducing the number from 4 to 3 but I'm not taking that kind of action unless it gets OK'd by the people who do the day-2-day maintenance. Maybe PM TGR420 and or the webguy and see if they have opinions. PMing them is the quickest/easiest way to get a response as they don't spend every waking moment on the site. I, fortunately, am not privy to the internal workings of the companies website so I can't make changes that drastically effect the size and performance of their database.

Well, I used search function for "Advers" on a daily basis so that I could keep up to date on your status, but all I ever got was:
