Just started listening to this band about a month ago. My roomate started playing some of their mp3's and I've been listening to their stuff ever since. Can anyone reccommend a specific album? Other bands like this?

You might also like bands like Shadows Fall, Meshuggah, possibly Lamb of God, Dark Tranquility, At The Gates, and maybe check out Mastadon as well. That should be enough for now, at least one of those bands should appeal to you if you like In Flames. Well, enjoy the music, and keep it fucking heavy.

I'd catagorize it as swedish death metal. It fucking rocks. Saw em a few years back in Worcester, awesome show. Tons better than Meshuggah, who opened for TOOL a few years ago.
Dio maybe?![]()
Ywngvie JJJJJJJ Malmsteen. Ha.
Meshugah. Double ha.

Well for the fucking record I hate In Flames, I think it is crap... so in that light I listed a few bands who, although I don't like them, may fall into that same area, hence meshuggah. Also, Dio is fucking weak, I don't think anyone should be allowed to listen to that crap. If you want to listen to good music from bands over in that part of europe check out Children of Bodom, kalmah, norther, maybe even dimmu borgir. As for Yngwie, well, if you want heartless shred, that isn't even as fast or good as other heartless shredders, well then he is your man. Of course I can't stand aging rock stars who are overweight and still wear tight leather and pirate shirts... damn that Yngwie.

In Flames: 'Reroute to Remain' or 'The Soundtrack to your Escape'
As you listen to In Flames you'll invariably be attracted to harder, louder, and faster. So from In Flames I'd recommend...
Unearth
Iced Earth
Dimmu Borgir
Dimension Zero
Arch Enemy
Mastadon
Killswitch Engage (well...sort of)
Just picked up "Reroute to Remain" and "The Soundtrack to your Escape".....both are awesome cd's, I really dig the vocals.
Anyway, I'll def check out some of the other bands listed.![]()
