    Snowboard equivalent of TGR?

I know that TGR includes snowboard stuff too, but my girlfriend wants somewhere to hang out that really caters to knuckle draggers. With so many young punks snowboarding and being on the internet and stuff, I imagine it would be hard to find somewhere everyone is as mature and helpful as on TGR. But...if you can recommend somewhere, I would appreciate it, I tried searching google, but nothing really good came up.

Oh, and if you search "ski forum" on Google, TGR isn't on the first 10 pages, and I got tired of looking after that.

    There isn't one . . .

. . . and trust me, I've looked. But I always end up back at TGR.

Every snowboard message board I've read is maddeningly populated with shit-talking, know-nothing, bling obsessed, 14 year old boys; or it has so few members that there is no real discussion.

I've tried burton (the best of the bunch, because there are a few sane people there), transworld, deluxe-sc, snowboarderreview, and a bunch of others that may, or may not, be around anymore.

Just have your girlfriend hang here. We'll take care of her. (I'll let someone else make the obligatory "post a naked picture of your girlfriend" joke.)

    I'm a snowboarder

though I manage to get in 10 days or so on skis each year....someday lord of the boards!!!

I find the discussions and most everything else on here is mostly based on just getting down and sometimes up the mountain, regardless of method.

like edub said, i keep winding up back here....

    www.snowboard.com
is filled with punks. I check it out just to stay in touch with the punk aspect of the industry. This place is better for those who want to stay in touch with what's going down, what Mountains are going off, and the TR's for those looking to plan their next trip.

I think the "Berlin Wall" between skiers and boarders was torn down long ago. I do both myself. It's all about snowriding!

The only good thing about snowboard.com is that you get an email address that ends with snowboard.com.

There are lots of boarders here and no one cares. So, Darkside, your girlfriend is essentially saying that she doesn't want to be on a board that has skiers on it - that she has a problem with us because of what we ride, even though we could give two shits what SHE rides.

    Pretty fucking lame.

I don't think punching her in the boob is called for, I just think we should all get along and ditch the "us vs. them" mentality on both sides. I actually came back to this thread to edit and mellow out my comments but now that Slim has quoted them it's too late. Oh well.

Yeah, I think that would be in order, figuring out what the fuck you were saying, and actually reading my post. Obviously, you only read the header, not what I actually wrote. You don't see people talking about boots, boards and snowboard technology around here. I didn't even know that the people who posted above were one-plankers. Anyway, I don't have an "us vs. them" mentality, otherwise I probably wouldn't date a snowboarder. But maybe now after your mature posting, she'll really want to hang out around here.

    Ice-

Personally, I didn't take Darkside's post that way. In fact, I sympathize with Darkside's GF. Snowboarders are definitely a minority on this board, and while the non-ski specific discussions and the small number of snowboardering specific discussions are top-notch, I am totally jealous of the huge number of ski gear discussions, tech talk discussions, etc. You just can't find the same level of real passion, technical sophistication, and maturity on any other board (maybe telelmarktips? but I've never been there. I like couloir too, but the number of posts/posters is relatively small.)

It's just a matter of numbers - there are tons of skiers here, and not as many snowbarders. And anywhere I go where there are a lot of snowboarders seems to attract only the 14 year old boy mentality. (Probably because snowboarding is a relatively new sport compared to skiing, but that's not really the point.) Because of this board, I now know more about the technical specs of most skis than most of my friends who ski - and I haven't skied in 5 years.

It would be great to have a place where I could ask the question (for example): "Has anyone ridden the '05 Burton P1 bindings with the living hinge and how does it compare to the 03,04 P1 MD in terms of ride and durability?" and hear more than crickets chirping. Don't get me wrong, I'll take the crickets here over the immature bullshit on 99% of the snowboard specific boards any day.

I think the best solution is to get more snowboarders here. So, Darkside, get your GF here ASAP. (and you can PM me the nekked pics whenever its convenient.)

edit: Damn I must type slow. Darkside's post above made mine pretty redundant.

edit edit: the post about snowboard tech, not the manboob post.

Reginald clutched Bettys sweaty loins as their bodies meshed into a caucophony of lurid sounds. Betty's long awaited dreams of finding someone to plunder her honey pot had finally been found, for who knows the dreams and aspirations of a 250 pound woman quite like Betty did.

The sounds of the lovemaking awoke Rhonda from her sleep, and she turned over with the wet anticipation of a alcoholic at an open bar. She slid out of her bed and slipped out of her sweatpants.

The door opened lending itself to the sweet fragrance of Colt .45 and Incense.

Reginald paused in mid-thrust, his hairy chest rippling from exertion as supported his paunch on the table below.

...so...if the lack of snowboard tech threads is a problem, I would think it'd be the responsibility of the snowboarders on the board to start some.

Oh yeah, and I hate snowboarders. They're all a bunch of pot smoking monkies. Every single one of them. No exceptions. That is all.

On this board (no pun intended) is lot of boarders, two-wayers and threesomers. Many of us(those) dont seem to make such a big deal about it though.
For me the biggest reson not ranting and drooling about snowboard stuff is that (my opinion) there aint such a big differencies between them.
    Honestly.

For me it isnt that big difference riding a 156 parkboard of a brand x in the
bc or riding that 172 plank.Of course differencies exist, put they sure as hell aint so ovious that in skiing. Let alone talkin about bindings. None of them pre-release,all gets their teeth grind out eventually and most of them get your ass wet, step in or not.

In skiingtech the mechanics is so much more variable that is causes more deviation(?) in the gear etc...

I guess this board is about enthusiastics that argues/rants/discusses just about everything. Even if im a twowayer(soon to be threesomer)
, is still read peoples post of mounting a pink second battery to the truck to go with the heating truckbed so they can go to las lenas to donate their surpluss BroModells to some guys there.

    Or something.
I have never been good with facts.
