I'm I'm not talking about Joe Walsh neither. If you legitimately boot in the trash can you can go home. Anyone not here by the open buys lunch for the firm.

truthfully? a little disturbing. honestly though bobby was going to pass out at one point- really looked awful. totally ashen, cold sweats, forgetting lyrics (nothing new but in that context a little scary).

literally hoped I was not an an historic show in that regard. You could tell they adjusted the set list to deal w/ his condition, but they were burnt enough to throw an el paso in there thinkingit would be easy for him geetar wise but forgot how many lyircs there were and the fact that he would have to sing them.

"new" dude from dso absolutely rips and carried everyone through. weird situation for him I thought actually- filling in for/playing with one of his heros and having to compensate for their old age. like playing hockey w/ guy lafleur or something.

Exactly why I'm done seeing that act. That guy will end up back with DSO.
They need to lay down their weapons. Aside from a fun pre show scene with a decent vibe all of the reincarnations I've seen have not come close to measuring up. Bobby sucks. It's over.

the thing that kept occurring to me was somethign people kept saying about jerry towards the end: he had so many people whose livelihoods (and identities, blah blah) depended on him getting back on that stage that he feldt he had to keep going even when his heart wasn't in it. Like a trained monkey. Bad stuff.

JK will not be back with DSO. Jeff Mattson is incredible in that band and barring an unbelievable opportunity, it seems unlikely he is going anywhere. Besides, why would DSO take him back after he bailed for greener pastures (not that i blame him)?

I have seen this band a half dozen times and have seen them play like complete shit, and also with brilliance. Russo, Chimenti, Phil, & JK, are mostly solid, and Bobby when just playing rhythm is often amazing. His singing, phrasing, song choices (and set list decisions), have been a source of irritation for me. Why the fuck is he singing songs like sugaree when John should be? Self indulgent and inconsistent. IMO he is the most frequent weak link in the chain.

But we always manage to enjoy the shows. I miss Phils band with Jimmy Herring and Warren.

PS: Jill Lesh is a fucking idiot and needs to fuck off.

I saw a DSO show with JM back in May, I see the potential but it didn't have the impact I was hoping for... I guess it'd nice to know this will get better. I just see the other ship of fools swirling the drain. The first couple of DSO shows I saw before this whole shakeup just absolutely blew me away, so much better than the dead/furthr/other ones whatever.

JM is a very good player. The last time we saw them was the late night set at Mtn. Jam, the China RIder was like being at a full on dead show intensity wise.

The last time we saw Furthur, they played China Cat, then slammed the breaks on and played some new song that was so out of place it was painful, rather than the RIder, then proceeded to play Slipknot and stopped right before the place took off into Franklins (it could have been insane), but instead played another new song. I have no idea what they were thinking.

^last year's Allman/WSP tour's jam sessions were awesome. Warren, Jimmy, JB, Derek, Scott Murawski from Max Creek, Oteil, Dave. Good times. I have been taking my kids to the Allmans every year for a few years. We're gonna miss them this year. Once your kids see that type of guitar virtuosity, it makes pop music unrealistic as a listening option.

Strangely enough, recalling he ABros show from 2008 with Ratdog opening, Ratdog played a very good show. Impressive and enjoyable, and I am not a dog fan by and large.
