    cheap lessons for kids (Utah)

My physical therapist wants to get her 4 year old daughter skiing, but doesn't want to teach her herself. She looked into lessons at the Bird, but was blown away by prices. I told her about the "Ski free after 3" thing at Alta, which will be great when she wants to just ski with her daughter but she's still looking for something relatively inexpensive for formal lessons.

Any ideas? Any resort around here is fine - they live closer to LCC, but have a timeshare at the Canyons and no season passes, so they'll go wherever. The 2 hour kids lessons at Alta are $40 which seems like it fits in her price range, I was just curious if anyone knows of other deals elsewhere.

Isn't there a magette on here who teaches (taught?) at Alta? See if you can talk her (or any off-duty ski instructor) into doing a private. Since most instructors get paid at most 50% of the cost of the lesson, your friend should have no trouble affording a private lesson off the books with one of those instructors (said lesson would probably have to take place somewhere other than the instructor's home resort though).

Hey, just signed my stepdaughter up for five sessions through some organization outa Murray..its called Ski Blitz. $145 bucks for lessons, transport and tix. Rentals are $45 bucks for the session. Canyon Sports is doing rentals for $79 bucks a season for kids. This one is through her middle school in Sandy, but they have programs for elementary school kids also.

Call Dimple Dell Rec Center or the County Parks and Rec..they'll point you in the right direction.
