Pacifica has always hated the fact that people surf in their community. They rather keep the riff raff out. Hope the permitting works out. OB would suck for that kind of thing the whole way around. A lot more driving, but it might be worth looking at the ptown jetty. Or tuck way up under the cliff house.

Ptown Jetty??? Fuck, man, we want to get them hooked on surfing, not kill them. The kids are only4-5' tall. The beach rises that much in three feet there. Jeebus. Cliff House has become a raging scene of has-been's and will-never-be's(WhiteKingSemen). Really just looking for closeouts. Stinson would probably be ideal, were it closer. Past trips went to Capitola, and the kids ruled.

EDIT: Doesn't hurt to have a bunch of assholes looking after the kids. "HEY, YOU Ffffffffffffff... Oh shoot..."

Stinson? You have to let ten know they have a 12.7% chance if being bitten. Cap and Cowells are great choices, but pretty long day coming from the city.

We're about half way through a month in Costa Rica. Surfed Esterillos, Dominical, Santa Teresa, and just landed for the final 2 weeks in Nosara. I'll try to grab some pics but it's hard to stop and take a break.

Last nights sunset sesh was amazing, final wave over a pastel colored ocean was a mind bender. Long rippable walls and stunning backdrop. It took 10 years to come back here and don't know why waited so long. Sure, lots of surfers but the beach spreads everyone out and there's rides for everybody. Going now for dawn patrol and sunrise in 85* water.

    Pura Vida!

bay area mags - I'll be up your way next weekendish. Staying with a friend in Carmel 11/21, camping at Samuel P. Taylor SP 11/22, and then heading up the north coast after that.

Would love to have time for a surf on the 22nd at some point in Santa Cruz, but won't have a board with me. I plan on bringing my 4/3 and booties, but GF wants to bring the Civic on this trip to save $$$, so no room for boards. Ott - anything I could borrow on that date? Wanna surf?

BS - I guess we'll be heading through OB on the 1 that day as well.

We will also likely be back to SF on Thanksgiving afternoon (staying in North Beach) , but figure that's family time for most people.

PS it would be rad to surf in Humboldt if any mags are up there, but I don't think I have the rubber for it.

You should be able to pull a 1-1 1/2 hour session up there. Definitely keep me posted. Height and weight?

I guess I should bring my gloves too since I've got them.

5 8, 150 dry. I forget how much weight a wetsuit adds. Haven't really needed one down here yet (except it's flat)

I've got you covered. I weigh in at 185, so they will be my sized. Not sure if I'll be in town that day or not, but either way, I should be able to get you a board. We can PM details.

If I am in town, and you want to catch a surf together, I'd be up for taking you around. I typically surf north of town where there are way fewer people, but the surf is rawer, and the sharks roam freer. And if you are lucky, I'll get you out to a nice sharky ledge where the scariest part is getting down the cliff. It was fun there this morning.

    Sounds like a fun trip.

Lee, you may want to wait an see if there is any south swell coming before listing to Le King there. He failed to mention that is what P needs, and there is not a whole lot of that coming in late Nov. The places you mentioned being don't need a whole lot of swell and pick up a far amount of NW which is hitting now.

Saturday was one of the better days I've had, we had trails at San O to ourselves with glassy waist to chest high. Sunday was mostly ruined by wind and today was completely wind fucked but thanks to a little local knowledge we found some decent but small sheltered waves in Dana Point.

I'll be through santa cruz sometime after noon today. Staying in carmel a bit longer than expected, so a surf may be out today, but thank you ott for offering up a board. We're thinking we want to head back this way next weekend so I'll keep you posted.

Surf is pretty damn flat here today as it is. Moss Landing might have a few waves, but doubt I'll bother.

I won't be in town next week, but will remember to shoot you a PM about how to access a few boards.

careful. kingdildo might get mad at you for posting waves in the knee to waist high range. He absolutely forbids talk of such waves around his self esteemed self. are you back in ootah? snow is fun too.

that looks like a smaller board you are riding. did you finally find something you like?

back in Utah and snow is fun, ice is not really that fun though. That's not me, I was behind the lens. That's a friend of a friend who was showing us around out there. I was still on a log. The previous day the waves were a little cleaner and a little bigger and I probably could have gotten into some of them on a shorter board but I'm still in the "get as many waves as possible" phase and having a damn good time doing it.
