After being in the courthouse all day the prosecutor dismissed me around 4. It was funny, because I only answered one question, and others answered the same way I did, but he did not like the way I seemed, and let me go. I don't know what it was, but thank god. I was the last guy dismissed from the jury, so I got lucky.

Interestingly enough, the same thing happened to me about 6 years ago. The prosecutor sent me off then too. The really amazing thing was, both cases were for indecent exposure, some guy wanking it in public.

Edit. Wife forgot to bring home papers to grade. Hence it has been agreed that God wishes for me to ski. Powder bound for the day Sunday. Yay.

But I had to give up surfing (mostly) for a week plus. Oh well. It is stormy and short period mess.

Yeah. Windswell. Whatever. Got in a run, a stretch, a paddle, a few waves, and a run in the 50 minutes I had. Nothing compared to what the previous month brought. Oh well. More rains coming.

Yup. Something like that. Does it turn you on you perv? Maybe, for the sake of keeping you out of jail, perhaps you should avoid reading it and continue on in your lonely imaginary life instead of having those demons pull at your soul. But I doubt you can turn away. So sad.

Dear Little girl diary: Brushed my teach this morning. Felt great. Now we are watching Percy pull a 15 car train. Cool. Bagel in the toaster. Life is good. No significant surf on the horizon. More snow on the way. Gonna take the kiddo up for his first powder day this weekend.

SoMe coast was firing this am after the 15" of snow fell yesterday. Head + and clean with just 3 of us total. Paddling out was tough with 15-30 duck dives required in the 40 degree water and 15 degree air temps. Relentless. Felt like 4 second period on the inside. 1st wave was a sesh maker fer sure. Felt like i was railing a rollercoaster

    Monday/tuesday looking real good.

total surprise sesh yesterday from 1030-1230 at the ogt. walked the dog down to york and noticed a bump, and despite what the buoys had been telling me, the swell from the previous day was still throwing some action to the shore. decided the best place near me to channel and amplify any energy left would be the riv mouth. call my bud at the surf shop in nh and he immediately told me i was gonna score. pulled up and yuppers, perfect tide, perfect winds, and perfect punchy lil waist + sets coming in. grabbed the cordless 5'8 and got to work. amazing how much fun that wave can be with so little size. just ripping. and absolutely zero other surfers showed up for the 2 hours i was out. surfed an hour outgoing thru an our incoming from low. had a sweet little right hand cover up that ended in two mini floaters on the knee high inside section in 8" of water, watch those fins!

crazy fun, prolly more fun than the perfect head high plus with no one to share my stretch of break with the day before. now i know why i don't bother to travel. just too fucking good here. and often.

HB was chest high and fun this weekend. Absurdly crowded. One of the problems with Newport being thigh high and HB being chest high is that all of north OC goes to HB.

Not if rog was in the OC. Shortly after killing himself he'd go rip up that thigh high stuff all by himself.

Yeah. 4 or 5 pros. The other 45 folks only range from intermediate to expert. So pretty much everyone in the water is a stronger surfer than 9 out of the ten guys out at the river mouth when is going in autumn. You'd love the OC. Especially te failed pros who have not quite yet figured out they are a failure. Kind of like our friend on a speed boat out there. The failure part. Not the pro part.

Went to the snow. Eight feet fell while I was there. Dug a lot of things out. Made a few turns. Jumped off a bunch. Back home now. Surf looks to be cleaning back up with some decent mid period in the water. Hope to check it out later this evening.

Yeah, well it settled down to about 5.5. It warmed up a bit on Sunday night, and I watches the snow pack settle about one foot in three hours. It was eerie. Kind of wish I made a time lapse video. Regardless, we are in pretty good shape up there now. Fingers crossed for a nice cold topper.

checking in..only surfed once since the end of the big swell 1-2 weeks ago. Nothing really worth getting after with the winds and weather we've had. Also, got laid off from my job 2 weeks ago, but was able to get a new one quickly. The job's down in SD, so when our lease in Carlsbad ends at the end of March we'll be making the move south.

Eyeing OB, south PB, and Bird Rock. Any thoughts on summer surf in that area appreciated...from what I've seen and surfed winter waves will be more consistent and bigger than here, but not really sure about what happens on a south.

I was kooking it up today. Just not in sync at all. 1st wave nice 3 turns. 2nd wave a little vision I thought I was gonna come out on, then eat shit. Then a cross wind picked up with side chop and I just lost it. Drop bottom turn try to make a turn, eat shit. Repeat ten times in a row. Call it a day. Glad cali got snow. Snow is here now as well. At last!

^Jtran I know nothing about the surf down there but I was on a job in January shooting some video at the Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla during a good swell and could see the swell lines coming in from way up the hill. Looked large and beautiful and offshore. Lots of cars driving by with boards. I was jealous as I clipped away at 14 hour days. Looked very, very sweet. Gorgeous weather. Seems like a good place to be based near for surf.
