Waves delivered for the weekend up here. Went to Tofino. Sand was just right at one spot. Ankle high brah!
Looks like I'm waiting until the end of the week to get back in the water.

^^nice, Tofino huh...sounds frigid, what’s the water temp this time of the year? I am guessing fishtaco wouldn’t approve of your 5/6

I have a fishtaco type situation right here in plain old CA. Do I ski 1800 vert of magical brown groomers or do I head south to surf literal knee to waist high epicness

Groomers. Stretch the legs. Adjust the lungs. Tune the equipment. Etc. easy call. Now, if it was chest to head high long period, it would e a tougher call.

Water temp is wearing my 6/5/4 temperature. In related news I had to get new booties because my old ones were shredded from walking out on all the rock bottoms in my new neck of the woods.

5mm dipped in liquid neoprene. We will see if they last but they are the most supple and warm booties ever. Just brilliant.

Getting to that time of year...ski or surf? The answer is always both.

I wish I was in the position to be saying "ski or surf tomorrow?" It has been teh fucking flatness in So Cal for weeks And Mammoth still has not received that first solid dump of the season that I need to drive 6 hrs from San Diego I am going fucking batty
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Anybody else watching the contest? Looks like waist to chest high Rhode Island
    http://oascentral.surfline.com/RealM...6b41426b7074?x

We all know fishtaco is balls deep in someones tube on a beach in a far away land but it was victory at sea today here in The regular ole OC. No surf in the future to speak of either, hoping to squeeze in an epic waist to chest high sesh tomorrow morning.

Dog kinda made that call for me, she broke a tooth and had to have surgery so South we went. Still got like 7 days of brown groomers to stretch the legs and give me an excuse to drink beer and eat pizza

Hey. Do you offer child care at your June lake Lodge?. I mean, you and your lady should practice, cause ya never know. If you want, I can bring the boy by for a week this winter after a dump. I'll just need for ya to point me in the right direction up the hill.

Kind of don't mind that it has dropped and got funky. With the rain holding off I'm totally focused on the yard. Figure I have less than a month and then things will get pretty wet and sloppy out there. Gonna take a look at the ocean in the morning, but it is just some wind swell out there right now.

This chick is fucking core. Definitely has bigger balls than most (if not all) of us, especially fishtaco

OTT, dude if my wife and I are both in June, you could definitely bring the little one. I mean, you wouldn’t want to leave the kid with just me . Seriously though, if the kid doesn’t mind us, we definitely wouldn’t mind helping a mag out so you can shred the gnar. We have a pretty decent life and like to pay it forward any chance we get....

Pumping up here today. Got out early. First 3 rides air drops to nose dive slammed. Then the crowds showed up. Managed to get 3 really good rides pinky toe high. Then got caught on the inside a bunch.

In the afternoon checked out a new spot. Meh. Swells have been few and far between.

This morning Linda Mar was much better than Ocean Beach in the afternoon. Was amazing that Linda Mar wasn't the closeout fest that it normally is. Stoked to be out all day as well.

should be on like donkey kong. noon-dark should be best for more places. Salisbury ma will be cleanest but smallest due to swell direction. most powerful wave so it's got that goin. new hammy should be good with winds all day for spots that handle sw winds best. high tide is mid day tho. rocks could be good mid morning and mid/late afternoon. York south of the bath house could be decent by noon with wsw winds. ogt Tuesday 1st light for leftovers

i'm gonna look at York mid morning and keep eyes on winds. will shoot to nh if need be. may even look at Salisbury if winds hold more south than expected.

thinkin chest-head+ for maine. chest-shoulder for nh, and waist/chest for da bury.

    you comin?

My buddy landed in Nicaragua yesterday, checked into Hotel Chancletas and paddled out to this....

....Boom (think that’s the name of the break)

disclaimer: not copied from the Nica chamber of commerce, this is a live shot from 11/17/13 of an actual surfer that I know who could afford the 50 cents per message fee, and no milk tea

    sweet!^^^^^^^^

just checked short sands. thigh plus clean as a whistle. tide needs to go out and will be bigger later. longsands is easy chest/shoulder and cleaning up. the 5 second period this am is now over 7 seconds and increasing with 6-7 foot swells. mid 140's angle is definitely favoring maine over nh. too warm for anything more than a t shirt at the beach. yum.

will head out south of the restaurant in an hour or so.

meh. size was there. chest/shoulder consistent sets. winds were kinda offshore so fairly clean. looked waaaaaaay better from the beach. managed to get a coupla "wow, where did that one come from amidst all of this willy nilly garbage". some killer carves. good thing you saved yer gas money MPPG!

did an hour and a half of that with strong south/north current fighting, then went on a mtb ride which was actually pretty fun.

    ogt am. fingers crossed.
