Geez, I can't possibly see how you could find something like that enjoyable, and life in general at this point. I once surfed nipple high surf, so you can understand why I know your life is not nearly as important as mine. Anyway, I sleep naked, dude. The only way to do it. The rest of ya are beaters if you can't comprehend my awesomeness.

Keeping at it jtran is the best of medicines. Drove a bit up the coast today. Knee to waist high plus and super clean. Might make a go of it later.

Okay, I can't resist. Here is one for you fishhead.

Full rubber and a solid knee high.

In all honesty, I just last longer when I have the rubber on. Why pull out, when you can stay in longer? While warm water is great, I've never really minded the wetsuit. Hell, if the water were warmer, there would just be more people in it. And while traveling can be fun, I prefer to surf where I live and get out daily, even if just for a half hour. Not sure why I am bothering being reasonable with the jong, but what the hell. As you said whitefish, for each their own. I stomped measuring myself against others back in seventh grade.

Did you bring a camera? Care to contribute some stoke? I, for one, would love to see some double overhead tropical surf with turtles in the pit. The middle school antics, OTOH, meh.

More small surf shots here. Not a bunch, as it is getting harder to wrangle the boy as he grows and charges more.

Next week is still looking promising, once the storm passes this weekend.

Looks fun for lumpy surf. Last night and this morning delivered at the left hand slab that I often enjoy. Big crowd last night of four or five of us. Just my buddy this morning. Love that wave. Such a tight slingshot of a bowl. Back up to shoulder/head/plus. Pretty nice after that run of knee to wasted. Wind storm should muck things up tonight, but off shore flow returning for next week with another round of moderate groundswell. Might get lucky and actually surf my favorite right pit in clean eight footers for the first time this season.

Life changing session today. With all the hype and anticipation of this new swell, I was surfing the interwebz looking at pictures of mirissa beach and watching fistful of barrels. Glanced outside and saw a cloud roll bye and the wind picking up. Grabbed my board and noticed a huge fog bank rolling in, so drove north.

Rolled up to perfectly sunny and glassy waves. Long paddle out and no one on the peak. Paddled for my first wave and went left, heaving knee high peeler, with a lip bash a the end. Paddled back out and noticed the boats racing north out of the fog bank that was headed my way. It felt eery knowing the fog would soon engulf the break. I knew a set waves lurked on the horizon, so I was determined to wait for it.

Sure enough, out of the fog bank rolled in a waist high set. Intimidating to say the least but I knew this was the one, so I paddled as hard as I could. Made the drop and came around the section to see a heaving lip about to crush me. I straightened out for fear of my life, then rode the white wash in. Laird said it wasn't a made wave because I didn't kick off the back. Biggest shore pound ever, as I exited the water I noticed the crowd waiting for me. I kissed the beach, signed a few autographs and picked up a latte on the way home. Life is good.

low tide kelly's cove barrels last night. gleaning the crop today. next week awaits...been spoiled this fall, of course timing is everything around here. and fuck yo tropical paradise, + days of air travel and squalid, disease prone conditions. they grow staph in those waters don't ya know? take my chances with homeless poo, occasional needles and stray chupacabras that do hunt the golden gate park.

It was cold as fuck this morning, and my suit was wet. Did not really have any problems putting it on and tucking myself into some tubes. Then being home by 10AM, and not having someone else shovel my dirt. Good shit it was.
