It has been forever since I surfed around K38. I use to love surfing around that area, but once the property owners walled all of my favorite breaks off for no access and the area went nuts due to the Narco gangs I said fuck it.

Aw fuck RL is the worst. My wife is a HS teacher and ends up with gift certificates at holiday and year end. We got one for RL and stopped in one on the drive back from skiing. It was edible but not worth spending actual money on.

Sandbar dependent, but yes. Super long wave. I don't often go there when there is a good south, as it will be bigger and juicier else where. But once it get about head high with a zero tide you are pushing over 300 yards. Sometimes indicators will begin to connect and then it add 150 plus. But usually there is a close down section between the two.

Yeah, he said it breaking about the length of the wharf. He went in for one on his fish (which may be the first time he's surfed it), but was more at the lane, which he rarely surfs. He just knew I'd like to hear about Cowells.

Great from Friday through Monday in Orange County. Best swell of the summer. I spent several days south of Cotton's and it was a blast. It has dropped off, but I got a dawn patrol in Newport today that was shoulder high and fun. The water is in the high 60's.

So hard to take good pics here. Periscopes is a half hour walk down the beach, so can't bring a camera when surfing there. Other spots 500m+ offshore, so tricky without good camera. Have heaps of photos at home, will try to post some once back in NZ. Water is 80-85F, btw :-)
