Other then the hordes, which might seem light compared to the OC gaggle, SD is a great location. Picks up way more south than up here. And while we have a few mega gems within a 100 miles when a sizable S shows, we can be stuck with waist high while they see OH bowls. And while we pick up way way more NW than down there, they get the most of anyone south Pt C. And there is another country even close by.

Gonna take a peak at it today. 5.5@11 right now. Maybe something.

LJ Reefs = Great surf in Summer when there are waves, somewhat heavy barrels at a few of the spots. Vibes are common in the water at the top spots, roll solo or with 1 other and blend in with the rest of the crowd to avoid the ill vibe

I'll go on record and say it, this is the worst winter I can remember in slocal. 1 week worth of decent surf in months is all she's worth so far and that's not even to mention the lack of snow this year.

Sure there's a little surf on the way but enough of this dribble, bring on the juice. I demand more, dammit!

Been hitting Tourmo and Windansea this week . Kind of gutless waves for the most part. Supposed to pick up tomorrow hopefully. Back to 3 feet of fresh snow in the PNW Wednesday . Just wish it was firing here this week.

dis mornin was titties. perfect stomach high. like a machine was making them. super playful hero waves. the 5'8 is ridiculous. no one out all morning. unfuckingbelievable. bet nh had hundreds out. up to 100 inches of snow at da beach meant wading through waist deep to get to the sand from the road.

tomorrow looks like a carbon copy

Nice, PB point can get fun. Catching a sunset on the rocks at the end of the point is a good way to end the day.

Long range forecasts are looking good, calling for 7-10' next weekend and some 6' days mixed in after that. Here's to hoping ole man winter can deliver

    In the meantime.....

All 150k of them waiting for this....

Gonna try for an afternoon session so I can get a wave or two without the masses

^^^^^holy shit that's like 10 times busier than the wall in august

Ogt this am was bliss. Warm sun, perfect a frames and only one other out for the 1st hour of the 2 i was out. If this was one of my fave CR rivermouths there'da been dozens and dozens on it from 1st light.

    All set with that.

    Maybe leftovers in the am

You get what you pay for. I found plenty of empty waves in CR. Sometimes you just need to look around the corner. Punta Mita had plenty of super crowded spots. But even when La Lanch had 35 guys fighting for a weak, slow wave, I spied a thumping left hand bowl just 50 yards down the beach. I surfed it, and never again saw someone out there. When the following day I asked a local what the spot was called, he responded, "Oh, there is not a wave over there." Too funny. What is even funnier is this guy was a boat/surf tour operator.

Back home and man does it feel cold out. Gotta grab my suit and get out there. Ready to get back on my own board. TR is about a week.

Never thought I'd say this in February but the predominant swell is out of the SW. Surprisingly fun, solid shoulder+ sets last night.

ya i hear ya. i never shared a peak on the caribbean coast, even tho there were tons of folks sitting on top of one another just a few hundred yards north. on the pac coast i just went at 1st light till 7 then back out once the morning crew got tired.

ogt yet again this am. alone for an hour from 930-1030 with perfect waist high clean conditions. then 2 suppers showed up and that would be it. they were nice enough to ride their own peak till i got out an hour later then paddled right to where i had been. now that's proper etiquette.

some super fun lefts and rights were had on the 5'8. love that wave, especially on a warm winter sunday when no other surfers show up

things look quiet(er) for the next few days, but i wouldn't be surprised if we see some pulse from an expected storm midweek.

Holy shit that water hurt when I hit it today. Nice to be home. Shitty day here, so only two traveling surfers out. No one told them how shitty it was. Got a few super fun ones. Shoulder/head high, tide too low bowls. When they did not all close down on the reef, but instead stayed open, a few fun barrels and heavy lips to hit. Nice to get back on the short board and go fast again.

Well signed the new lease today. End of march we'll be moving to a new spot 25 yards from the ocean in south ob (on coronado).

Any and all sunset cliffs beta by PM is appreciated. Looked like a mushy peak at the end of our street, and a better one a couple blocks south, but didn't explore beyond that. Stoked to walk to the surf now!

I drove tonight. About 9 minutes from my door. Got a shack. And a bunch of weird, thick, bowl like things. Had fun. Might do it again some time. I always love coming home.

Solid 7-9'@14s swell hitting. It's damn clean here in Monterey. Light to strong SE. Could be real good in spots. I imagine by the time my window rolls around it will swing strong from the SW and shut most things down

tried to paddle out this morning at high tide but couldn't do it. no channel, and waves breaking all the way up the beach to the cliffs.

    might try again this afternoon
