"Should we make another lap?" Long ass day with Stoy TR

HUGE day with Stoy. Wanted to ski Cherry Peak, but the poor visibility inhibited that option. Without that option, we decided the best thing to do would be to thoroughly punish ourselves.

Stoy nearing the Naomi Ridgeline after 3 miles of quick skinning.

Fun turns into never-never land on the backside of Naomi-into Smithfield Canyon.

My chump ass hiking out of Vallhalla and the land of the lost.

Hiked back over the ridge and skied a nice 700ft shot north of Naomi. Stoy ripping.

Stoy slogging up for number 5 or 6. We did three laps and were relatively tired. But we just couldn't stop saying "One more?" It was too good to go home early.

Stoy taking a much needed break under a tree. I think we still ran one more lap after this.

By lap six we were both hammered and skiing like shit.

    Rime-arrific!

We just wanted out, but a couple of chumps with no driving skills, shovels, or tow ropes were trying to dig themselves out with a snowboard. We offered our towrope and they busted loose.

Notice the guy on the far left of the photo with the wife beater tank top on and the smoke in his mouth.

Ended up with about 6,600 feet of skiing. Started at 6:30 AM and got back to the car around 2:30 PM. Six inches of new fell while we were up there. Made for a good early season outing.

Makes me question coming in to work today...I didn't really accomplish anything anyway, should have gone skiing.

Oh, I was thinking about you guys today sitting in my office. I'm interested in doing Saturday. If you guys were punished I'm sure I would be dead. But it would be a happy, snowy dead.

I'm only bringing Fritz on shorter days now that he is 8 years old. Although I'm sure he would have smoked us both anyway. He screwed up his leg a few weeks ago, so I've sort of been resting him.

Shouldn't you be sleeping by now?

I got out of my car and could not feel my legs.

Had to shovel off the deck, walk the dog, give an electrician the walkaround. But that black coffee is hooking me up.

    Good luck tomorrow Stoy.

glad you guys still got to make good turns. the pfeiff would have been socked in today anyway. how much snow did you guys have on the ground? i worked today instead of doing what i should have done. you've convinced me to just compromise and do both tomorrow.

Buster..thanks for letting me know about the town party....definitely had a little too much of something.

Wearing goggles...on a day like this, one run is all you'd get. I saved them for the out.

What a difference a day makes. Today, the wind was hammering, the snow piling up, and the soft wind slabs cracking all over. We turned back because of variable conditions, very poor visibility, and after watching the snow crack all around us, we decided to leave. Some stuff started to slide as we rolled out, meaning, we rolled out. Visibility was even worse for the out.
