Pro Ski Service of Seattle. 90th N Aurora. I work there.

Why is it the best? Because its between a ghetto little bodega and the AA and NA hall, don´t be intimidated, that just keeps the rent and prices down. Look outside! Yes, that is a prostitute using the payphone but look farther. Ahhh, Mt. Rainier.

And if you come and don´t think we´re the best, or we mess something up, well we´ll get you drugged enough that you don´t mind anymore. Not your thing? Its all good, bro.

That is exactly the info I was searching for. Any word of the Spokane, Bremerton, over on the Pen?

I have similar questions for California, but I think I am going to look at places closer to the Mtns. Let me know if there is a shop down in Ca, Tahoe or otherwise, that I should make note of.

Keep the shops coming, this is great! Thanks everyone.

I think you mean Central Market.

Great tunes, repairs and mounts. Not a huge selection but some interesting demos and deals.

    Really nice people.

They've just started MTB rentals and repairs this summer.

I live just down the road from this shop and see it all the time but never stopped in. Do love to check out the working women out front. I'll stop in sometime.

and Greenwater skis is money as far as service shops... and they;ve usually got some used or demo gear kickin around to sell. Louie, the owner, is a wizard. Took my race skis to him pretty regularly back in the day.

and for Kitsap, the only real option is Kitsap Sports in Silverdale .... and it's pretty mediocre... they do have an indoor mini skate park though.

as nice as gro is, it just doesnt have a whole heck of alot of gear, at least they didnt when I was there in mid Feb. This winter I'm hoping they step it up a bit, as everyone that works there is awsome and a blast to ski with.

But back to the thread topic. Evo gets another vote from me

Alpine Hut is good...sounds like pro ski would be good. Not the biggest fan of evo, but they aren't bad either.

I was never thrilled with Martin's work. Rick on the other hand ended up making my boots fit better than Martin ever did.

Still a crappy place to buy from and to do any sort of shop work in my experience after multiple tries.

Sorry to hear that Martin didn't do it for you Dug.
Our experience has been the opposite. Having in Boulder twice where Larry set the high water mark for boot fitting (probably for any market), I found Martin to be in the same league, with regard to knowledge and ability to get the job done.

I went in there looking for a small boot part a few weeks ago. The guy in the boot shop (no customers at all and not anyone I'd met before despite knowing a lot of those guys pretty well) wouldn't even look to see if they had it. Knowing what's behind the counter in that shop from past experience I'd be stunned if they didn't but he wouldn't even go back there to check.

I'm no longer a Sturtevants customer.

Pro Guiding in North Bend. They have a new crew and did right by me on an overnight Dynafit mount. Tons of backcountry experience. Martin is the man.

What about shops over by Spokane
I can vouch for the Spokane Alpine Haus. We have one of the best ski techs in the business. He has 25+ years tuning experience and produces what has to be one of the best hand tunes available, anywhere...

As a new customer of Grassroots in Everett I have to say they have been very pleasant to deal with.

Brian did a great job fixing a pretty nasty core/edge shot on one of my skis and a shovel delam on another.
And I recently had to replace my boots and got hooked up on a pair of 2010 Speed Machine 12's for half off. Plus they've let me raid their binding screw bin.

I've got a shit ton of work to get done on the quiver including fixing the nasty result of a Wailer105 pure flying off the roof of my rig and mounting three pairs of Sollyfits. On one of those Sollyfit mounts (on 112RPs) I want to use 297BSL Factors and 277 BSL TLT5s, for example. Given the combination of boutique skis and very specific wants, what's the most skilled shop in Seattle/Eastside (Bellevue, Redmond, etc.) for this kind of repair/mount work??? Who would you trust? And no, I will absolutely not mount the Sollyfits myself.

I took my Wailer 105s in the Sturtevants after a cheese-grater incident in Jackson. Speak with their head tech there, he knows his shit, has worked on DPS skis before, and will treat you right. Fixed a core shot and a compressed edge and even gave me a pretty sweet discount.

EDIT: I have no idea about the plates though. Something tells me not a lot of shops would put and unknown between your ski and binding as they would be liable. No real experience with this, just a gut feeling. I'm sure some PNW mag would help you out for some beers though.
