Just finished season 2 of Summertime. It was underwhelming at best
“How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world? I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher”. — Jimi Hendrix
Lost in Space, both the old (on Hulu)and new series the robot in the original can be pretty funny sometimes
“I have a responsibility to not be intimidated and bullied by low life losers who abuse what little power is granted to them as ski patrollers.”
Ravenous (2017)
This Quebecois zombie flick is the antithesis to Army of the Dead.
Treading between folk horror, environmental horror, and Romero's seminal work, it is a disarmingly quiet and brooding endeavor that succeeds due to its slow-burn pace, enigmatic elements, and skewed deadpan humor.

Love the creepiness of the eastern woods, so far this way way better than army of the dead. Thanks for the rec

I really enjoyed it, so beautifully shot. Thanks for the heads up on the post credits scene, although I’ll admit it left me with even more questions. Keep em coming!

I just discovered that this underrated and overlooked sci-fi flick is on NF
Prospect
I stumbled upon this little gem back in 2018 playing at a theater in Elk Grove (2 hour drive from my house). Yes, it was worth the drive.
Of note as it features Pedro Pascal pre-Madolorian. Beyond that, it's worth a watch if you are into low-key, well-acted, well-scripted, low-budget sci-fi.
It has a very distinct, classic Western vibe mixed with a bit of coming-of-age elements.
I'd actually read about the film in a 2017 article about short films that were being turned into feature length films. In this case the director/screenwriting duo made a short film and then based on that got financing to turn it into a feature.
They did a solid job of expanding and fleshing out the mythos they created in the short.

X2.
I keep getting sucked into The Magicians. Is this a problem?
I Am Mother
This is a taut little sleeper sci-fi thriller which is excellently paced, nicely directed, and contains just the right amount of tension and uncertainty, keeping one enthralled and guessing the outcome; I kinda figured out the "twist" early on, but I was just enough off that it was still somewhat surprising and no less effective in its reveal.

Agreed; this was one of those critically well reviewed but audience meh'd flicks that I thought most audience viewers were watching a different movie, based on their comments. Unusual in this regard, as usually with such movies where the audience is significantly less enthusiastic, I tend to side with the audience.
The OA - written about before /can't find, but the "movements" are pretty fuckt.
Otherwise a very interesting story and well done (on season 2 episode 2).
"Can't you see..."
Finished my Breaking Bad binge last week…..forgot how good it was.
Starting a Better Call Saul binge tonight…
I wish there was some newer choices…so for the summer, I’m having to stick with my old school throw back binges.
Watching Katla due to lack of new(wish) material; definitely dark and brooding, but full of people that can't see the nose in front of their face. Scenery/imagery is spectacular, but I find myself screaming at the idiocy. Observer arrogance???
