Does the ending match the book? It really felt like “well, we’ve hit two hours... let’s wrap this up so we can go home.”

Black Mirror Bandersnatch was interesting enough that I'll watch it again and choose differently.

No way Buster is the Coen Brothers best work.

Uh, yeah. It was great, but there have been so many greats, hard to pick.

Hateful Eight was pretty good ol' fashioned Tarantino.

Um. Honestly it’s been a couple years. But as I remember it’s pretty much at the same spot. After a couple hundred pages it feels different than after 2 hours. More happened. But IIRC the resolution was basically “this is how things are now, but at least these blind people are pretty cool.” Much like the movie.
    focus.

Thing #3 said, "this is the most fucked thing I've ever seen". I think he meant that it was good, but crazy.

Thanks for the heads up in regards to the novel.

FWIW, if you Google "Bird Box Novel" you get this list of stories, one of which claims the ending in the book is "much darker"...

Quite honestly, when I read the synopsis of the film I thought "Great, it's basiclaly A Quiet Place, but instead of people not being able to talk, now they can't see..." Seemed like yet another cheap gimmick to me.

But reading the synopsis of the book on the author's website, it sounds much cooler: http://joshmalerman.com/
"Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

Forgot about some of those morsels.

Yeah, there’s more in the book... I thought A Quiet Place was a lot more gimmicky. Partially, though, this is because of the influence of the book. I’m not a good enough reviewer (nor do I care enough) to try to separate it out so the movie stands on its own, particularly to compare it to other films in the same vein.

I watched Bird Box [ never read the book] from 9-11 last night and was able to stay awake. Gave it a thumbs up.

Another thumbs up for Bird Box. Sandra Bullock kills it

Black Mirror was amazing - for the first three seasons. Started going downhill in season 4 IMO, after the "USS Calister" episode..

edit: just watched Black Mirror "Bandersnatch" the interactive movie. I need someone else to have watched this. What. the. fuck!!?

Murder Mountain is a good 6-part true crime series about Humboldt County.

That was a very intense movie. I don't think I could have made it through that if I had kids.

    She directed it too.

Bird Box was entertaining, although the whole time I was stressed for the cute kids so not as enjoyable.

I finally got around to watching The Founder, and, I gotta tell ya, Keaton does a superb acting job in that movie. Obviously a very American story.

Made it through the season. Pretty sickining, bunch of white trash scum trashing the place. Maybe legal weed will at least clean up the environment.

I was disappointed with Bandersnatch. As a big BM fan, there was a total lack of the “morality play” that makes the stand alone episodes so intriguing.

I’ve been watching Derry Girls as well. Really funny, but I don’t recommend watching more than an episode or two at a time. The wife needs the English subtitles on due to the heavy Irish accents.

From one mooseknuckle to multiple, it’s a good binge. I’m a little sore about the 2013-2018 incessant back and forth, but I get it - they want to string it along. Powered through several last night and stayed up later than I wanted. Very addictive. Thanks
