    fighting photo enforced light tickets

Last weekend I was driving up to the wood, and as I was turning onto highway 16, I went through the green, but there was a super slow truck in front of me. By the time I left the intersection it was red, and the damn flash went off, so I assume they got a picture of my license plate. Has anyone tried to fight a ticket from the photo enforced lights? Is it easy to get it repealed? Should I just bend over and take it?

I fought one of these a couple of years ago. I had a good case too and I think that the court agreed. However, there was a previous "not obeying a traffic sign..device...whatever" on my record so the judge told me to bend over. I did get a 25% reduction in the fine, however.

    Thanks!

or, I could always use the time-honored tradition of crapping on the citation and handing it to the judge if all hope is lost.

    Don't expect to get a fine-reduction.

They have a picture of your car?

Send them a picture of your money.

Since I got a 6 point ticket a few weeks ago Ive been doing a bit of research on anti radar/photo radar myself. Im getting a lawyer so my insurance doesnt go through the roof. My wallet will initially be lighter, but hopefully she can help get the ticket to 3 or lower points. Photo radar doesnt go on your record, or at least it shouldnt, unless youre going really fast. that ticketassasin site is great if youre in cali.

also, they make liscense plate covers that are completely legal and see thru to the eye, but if a photo flash goes off its just a giant blur and there isnt any way to send you a ticket. They sell em at car toys and places like that.

    Good luck

I've been told that unless you get the ticket registered mail, you can claim you never got it in the mail.

I've also been told that if your ticket is $100 and you send them a check for $200 they will issue you a refund for $100. If you never cash this refund check the transaction will never go through and the points will never be added to your driving record because your account has never been settled. Urban myth?

Sure you can claim that. Then they will send you another ticket or issue a bench warrant for failure to pay.

    The logic here is mindboggling.

Not true. You'll just lose an extra hundy and score the same amount of points.
