If I remember right it went heat, bend twice as far, cool and epoxy, repeat and rivit as necessary.

That pretty much sums it up. Try and heat it as evenly as possible to seperate the layers. I suggest making a press out of old ski tips and clamping the new tails between old tips. THat will make your cooling mold.
