completely unnecessary thread (just writing to stay awake)_

    12:47 am EST.
i'm hundry. and very very tired. need to "wake" up in 2.5 hours to begin taxi slog to airport to catch first flight of the morning (6 AM) back west. been tossing & turning in bed stressed out about various things for the past 3 hours & i give up, no sleep till Sacramento. if I fell asleep now, it'll be harder to wake up at 3:30 am than if I pull an all-nighter. shitty logic. damn i'm hungry. this hotel sucks. no, in fact, its downright disgusting. I've seen cleaning maids in the hallways the past few days, but i don't think they actually come into the rooms. i was waiting in the lobby earlier and one dude came down to complain to the front desk. "Um....I just pulled my bedsheet back and it's not clean. there's like all hairs and shit in there." uggghhhh. maybe that's why i can't sleep. i'm hungry. i pulled up some reviews of this place on some hotel review website and 4 out of 4 reviewers emphatically stated to stay away: "DON'T STAY HERE! There's was fucking bloodstains on the window blinds in my room!" or this one, "do NOT go into the stairwell at night! Always take the elevator."...thought this one was pretty good too, "when leaving the hotel, DON'T turn right. go left. BAD neighborhood to the right. lots of gunshots." sheesh. it's a wonder i slept at all the past 3 nights. I'm hungry. maybe I should go and grab a snikcers or something from the vending maching. there's no freaking vending machines in this dive though. maybe I should take the stairs down to to the lobby go outside and turn right just to see how true that review was? I'll report what I find back here. shit I'll just take my laptop with my wireless connection with me....then i can report live from the hood. in real time. and i'll be safe. 'cause you'll be there listening and call the cops or something if my typing suddenly stops or something.

    1:00 AM EST.
it took me nearly 10 minutes to freaking write that? damn i must be tired. and hungry. the people who've been sleeping on the curb outside say that the soup from the kitchen across the street is pretty good. maybe they're still open? they say the prices are reasonable too. they must be because all they ask for is change as I hail my taxi. i only carry tens and twenty's, but since they only ask for change, i don't think i can help them. could some change really make a change? buy some time? some freedom? (that's a Jawbreaker lyric right there.)

    1:06 AM EST....
I'm going to go walk around....see ya later.

I was going to start a new thread stating this, but that would be unecessary.

Has anybody noticed the influx of new members today? There are like 3 threads on the first page started by new people. Welcome new people, please don't be overly offened by the JONG'ing that is about to take place.

    2:13 AM EST.
...well, I'm back. I went down the stairwell, tip-toed over a few syringes at the bottom, exited into the lobby, nodded to the security guard and walked outside. Fuckers. the soup kitchen across the street is closed. can't someone get any free soup around here at 1:30 in the morning? the usual suspects were sleeping along the curb. i wondered if he found his change....i wonder'ed if he could point me in the general direction....

...heading the warning from the above review, i turned left. it was quiet, cold, and well, dark. hit the next intersection and turned left again. to my amazement this block was quiet cold and dark as well. hit the next intersection and turned left into the alley behind the hotel and proceeded around the back. yeah, I think that's right.....

...this block was cold. sorta quiet. sorta dark. a trio of flaming red dots lined fhe shadows along the dark wall to my right. they'd hang low, then rise up in a sweeping half-circle, pause, intensify in brightness, tone down again, and then swoop back down low. the air grew more acrid around me with each swoop. one of the glowing hot red dots came toward me, shuffling. no sorry....i don't need anything...

...i wonder if there's like a 7-11 or something around here. maybe an AM/PM store? just a few churches and a liquor store....this place is far from skiing. my knee ached. i was hungry.

...just walking around the city, and yeah I guess I was (am) more than your average sort of tired, not having slept all that well the last three nights. When I found him he was just standing there on the intersection of fRANKLIN and Charles, waiting at the edge of the non-existent middle-the-night-traffic so that he could cross from one corner to another, afraid to step out even when the green outline of the walking person blipped on, blipped, blipped, blipped, and then blipped red. He backed off a little and continued to look up and down the road for cars. up and down. up and down. left and right. up and right. down and left. the walking person blipped green again and he tip-toed to the curb and swayed, then tip-toed back. seemed kinda skiing up to sketchy line and scoping it...."yeah i'm gonna go, 3-2-...shit, not ready....is that a rock? what's that shadow. fuck this, I'm going...."

    2:36 AM.
...I just wrote a bunch of shit, then erased it because I suddenly got the notion it would be great stuff to develop in a real story that has something remotely to do with skiing. guess walking around an unknown city in a dangerous neighborhood in the middle of the night is a cure for writer's block.

only 1 hour to go before my alarm goes off....then I'll hit the shower. think about calling the taxi. still tired. still hungry. still can't wait to get out of this dump

I was always under the impression that it was more of a "rite" than a "right". Unless of course it's a JONGs right to be JONGed in the traditional rite.

Hey guys, just figured this is the opportune time to introduce myself. Hi. Quick background, I'm from Michigan, living in Texas right now. Texas sucks, dont' come here. Hopefully I'll be living out West somewhere next year, most likely Utah. That's about it for now.
