Ok, ok, I know what are chances are....
But I love this state and I love this school. I grew up here, I graduated here and I root for my boys no matter what...
But I have to tell you... there IS something about this place. It's not like any other venue. It's kinda like the old days at Mile High, you know? Our stadium only holds half as many people as yours does, but we are twice as loud. When the cold comes rippin' through, it hits you to the bone. And we are at... 7220 feet. A few years ago, BYU was ranked 12th and came in here in November. It was an evening game, and we had sucked all season. We broke them in half.
I have absolutely no doubt that the Utes are for real, and I have alot of respect for them. But make no mistake, the Pokes will be fired up like they haven't been in a long time. They will be ready for a bloody battle. What makes us dangerous is... we have NOTHING to lose. We have been so lousy for so long, that many of us have forgotten what it was like way back when. A time when we were feared. A time when we were respected. None of the players on the current team have experienced a winning season since they came here.
Sure, we have a modest stadium, in a place most people dismiss as a wasteland. We have a much smaller student body that the other schools in the conference. Hell, when War Memorial Stadium is full, it is LITERALLY the THIRD LARGEST CITY in Wyoming. When our basketball arena is full, it's the 5th largest. But we are truly a state-wide team. We have no other university, no pro teams, etc. The entire state stands behind the Cowboys, and they represent us. We never stop fighting, we never give up, and we give it our all. We WILL NOT roll over and die. We will not go away. We know we are the underdogs, but we will be in your face and will fight like the whole world hangs in the balance.
This is the last homestand for alot of boys who have been through hell in the past few years.
We have a special kind of pride here. Not because we win or lose. Not because we are ranked or because we have national attention. We love our Cowboys, and that's enough.
You guys may very well win by 30 points. Or 40. Or 50.
But then again...
You may get stomped into the frozen prarie like never before.
This IS Laramie, Wyoming. We're ready for you and all that you bring. Just as we have been for the past hundred years.

Then, like I said, I'm super stoked to hit LCC on Thanksgiving!!!

Edit: BTW, I don't really hate you guys.

If any of you are coming out, let me know. We can grab a beer after the game or something...
My sister actually graduated from the U and is working on her PhD there. (Masters at Ohio State). She is coming out with some of her friends, so I have to be a neutral host, somewhat.
We are actually sitting in section B next to the Utah section - my sister wanted to sit over that way. I'll most likely be wearing a TGR beanie; either my black one with the wyo flag on the back or the orange and blue "Teton" logo on it. Unfortunately, none of my warm (ski) clothes are brown & gold, so I'll probably be wearing a blue down coat (but NO red

)
Cheers!
