    My cat died (NSR)

16 years old, so it's been a good run. She lived with my parents, but I was the one that picked her out 16 years ago, named her, and brought her home. Silly, but this makes me very sad. When my brother died, she was a great source of comfort to me and my family.

Just thought she deserved her own little RIP space on the Great Ethernet.

    Rest easy baby.

At least she lived a long happy life!

Sorry to hear that, Shawn. Maybe you could honor her memory with a trip to the SPCA for your kid to adopt a new addition.

Sorry to hear about your dead cat. Every time I get home, I wonder if my 16 year old moggy is going to be dead or not. She's getting progressively slower and louder.

Very sorry to hear that Shawn. That sucks man. Especially all you have gone thru. RIP.

    How are your parents doing?

Give Sasha some extra love, maybe that can help.

2Planker it's so hard to say goodbye to an old friend. She's lucky to have had a good life w/ a family who took care of her and loved her.

And I agree...if you are able to take care of another kitty at this time, there are SO many out there in need of a home. Go help another one have a happy life!

    Sorry for your loss, bro.

I've got 2 cats at home myself that we rescued from the pound. Karma's mom was dying when we picked him up, and Meeko was pregnant with 5 babies when we got her. I helped her deliver her babies and a year later they helped me raise a litter of 2-week old kittens that were orphaned when their mom was hit by a car.

Those two knuckleheads were a major factor in helping ease the sting of grief after my dad passed away.

Did your kitty happen to be a calico? John Ashcroft is very afraid of calicos - he thinks they are agents of the devil. Seriously.

Bummer about your kitty but, as you said - 16 years is a good run.

Oh yes, I can attest to the demonic properties of calico cats.

I have one, an old girl at 13 yrs old. She's still feisty as hell though. You can be petting her and she's all purring and happy and then suddenly-- SNAP! She bites the heck out of you! It's actually kinda funny. I guess it's her way of saying "enough already!"

    That's my girl!

I hear ya. I'd love to, but I have to work on a grant just all all day on Thursday.

I might be headed out of town Friday night to watch the ASU and WSU game in Tempe on Saturday, but if I don't go I'd love to ski/skin Saturday morning. I'll let you know.

Alex - did you get that radio back ok?

Derek - I still have your radio.

Bummer, TP. It takes a special man to love a cat.

My thumbed cat, Arlo, was devoured by foxes a few years ago. He was awesome...a bit schizo, but cool anyways.

My childhood mew lived to 21. He was born the same month I was born, so I knew him all my life. He was a badass who once killed a racoon in our yard.

    Cats rule. Get another one.

In Stoy's defense, it's best to skin it warm.

Although, it's been said that there is more than one...

    I can't do it.

sorry to hear that Shawn, it is so hard to loose a pet, especially one that has been around that long, you just sort of get used to having it as part of your life.
