Sadly, yes....the travel is a killer for 1 week and I just don't have 2 weeks to spare this year. Next year LG for 2 weeks will be a priority.


Baco...No doubt. I'll be traveling with hottie in tow so the gauking will be on the DL. Top shelf is the only shelf and I never worry.

We stayed at Anse Chastanet for our honeymoon. It ruled. But if you're flying solo, Sandals is much better. From what I understand it's the Vail of island resorts. Nothing wrong with Vail.

We tried as much as possible to get out and wander, and I could see how it could be sketchy, but we had a killer time with the locals, who actually ran off some guy who looked like a crackhead about to knife us. Make a run!

Go to the Friday Night 'Jump Up' at Gros Islet. It's a small fishing village, and you can buy gobs of seafood cooked on the spot, drink $1 Piton beer, and listen to some Cajun Zydeco-y stuff and dancehall.

You can take a taxi there. This guy looks right up your alley

Snorkeling and diving is "meh" compared to south Florida. But it's a volcanic island and is kinda cool to see the bottom drop off so quickly.

Well shit, it sounds like thinks have changed in the last 15 years (surprise surprise). That sucks about your buddy EP. I guess the fact that we were running around barefoot, catching rides in the back or on the roof of shitty communal 'taxis' (some guy who will stop and happens to be driving in the same direction - along with about 15 other people) and generally pretty grubby looking tipped people off that we had no money.

Ahhhh, the joys of 'progress'. It is a good thing we are taking these people out of the third world, they must be much happier now than they were without their color tv. (sorry, I know this is not the place for a rant).

Yah....was looking at the Sandals on Nassau as it's diving is world class, but the the facilities and location of St. Lucia are far more appealing to me. I've been lucky enough to dive some of the best reefs on earth, but the little lady is a newbie (just her cert dives) so just being in the water will be a thrill for her.

I went to that one for my wifes 30th b-day. They had free diving! She didn't want to go so I had to opt out. doohhh Chances are that was my one and only chance to ever dive.

Sandals on Nassau has a sweet off shore island with a bar. That was the shizzy.
