I've got a couple weeks on some 184s, and a few days on 192s. The 184s were mounted pretty close to center. I had a chance to ski a pair with demo binders, and played around a bit with mount points. They definitely ski better mounted closer to center. My 192s are mounted somewhere between 4-5cm back from center. I really dig them there. No tip dive issues.

Hey skidog are you mounting at -5 ish also? (192)
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I'd just want to ski on the best skis possible. Even though the indie brands usually don't support the development of the sport, the film companies, magazines, websites, film fests, events, etc - I'd still buy their skis if I thought they were the best.

mikedski - I've been reading a lot of internet babble trying to figure out which length Rocker 2 to get. I'd love to get your personal comparison of the 192 vs 184, since you look to be about the same size as me (165 lbs). If you had to pick one length for a Whistler powder day ski, which would it be? Thanks!

I like the playfulness of the 184cm - really quick in the trees and a perfect ski for the average day at Whistler. Most of the team guys ski the 184cm.

    Where to mount

Mikedski- just picked up a pair of 184's. I'm wanting it to be my deep fun day ski but I don't know where I should mount. I ski switch only 5% of the time. Any thoughts?

Between true center and 1 inch back. You need tail for stomping and going fast. The rocker up front takes care of any tip dive issues with being forward on the ski.

seems cody was recommending about 2.5 back of center on the 192. sounds about right he surely knows and has more time on them then i do.

Weighed the 184s today at 10.78 lbs.
One other piece of info. The exact middle between the camber contact points (where the ski bases touch when together) turns out to be right between the Salomon reference and the progressive reference (-3 from progressive, +3 from Salomon). I'm thinking of mounting there, or maybe 1 cm back.

Just talked to Cody tonight about the mounting and he said that in all the years he's skied, he's never mounted a ski so close to center. He said the farther back you mount, the harder it is to engage the tip. And that even with the mount so close to center, he never has tip dive. With that, he said to mount no farther back than -2 and Abma even likes to ski them at +1

Is that really fair? I believe the indy companies probably contribute as a percentage of there income as much or more than most of the larger ski corps. Just because they dont have the huge budgets your used to playing with doesnt mean they are not giving back...

When you guys are saying -2, +1, etc what are you referring to in terms of the lines on the ski? Are you using the progressive reference or salomon reference? And are you talking in terms of cm or inches?

Most have been cm references from the progressive line. Please specify if anything is otherwise (or just don't use inches, nobody uses that shit with skis).

Ok then so Cody saying to mount -2 he means 2cm back from the progressive line which would be the +4 line on the markings on the ski, correct?

I'm just gonna go ahead and trust him on this one because he said to mount Czars on the progressive line, which I did and loved them there.

I'm saying -2 of measured true center of the ski. I'm not sure where the lines are situated on the ski because frequently us sponsored guys will get sample skis that don't have perfect graphics laid down on them. So I always measure my skis and go from there.

Also noticed when i got my skis back after having them mounted that they're not aligned. It's about 1cm difference give or take a little bit. Is it worth going and getting it remounted or will the screw holes be too close and possibly cause failure? Not impressed at all to say the least.
Thanks for posting this. I measure my Rocker2s and found the boot center line to be a little off on each ski. The mount ended up coming out perfectly. If I never saw this, my bindings would have lined up on each ski.

I ended up going -5 cm back from center. So stoked to ski these things.

    Nice, thanks for the clarification.

I just measured the 192s and the true center appears to be right at the +50 line on the ski (1cm back from the progressive line).

Just fondled these for the first time this weekend and there happened to be a pair of Nordica Patron's right next to them. These 2 shapes a extremely similar.

I was on a Pair of 2012 patrons is some chalked up snow and got bounced around. The shape might be similar but the Rocker2 is pretty damp. Its cool that the patron comes in a 195 but it is 10mm narrower underfoot with the contact points considerably nearer the nose and tail. Good ski without a doubt, on a side note it was the 185 and for a guy my height and weight talking about any ski in a length under 190 is not fair cause I can think of three pow skis under 190 that I enjoy. Nordica does some strange things though like only offering the Radict in a 185 when to really appreciate it, it needs to be 10cm longer.
