For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Where is that place? Has a nice small-hill feel.
You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness, and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer.

Nice way to start the day. You should send that to Nelsap.org if that area is listed on their site.

Hey, that's what rock skis are for. Very cool. Interesting trivia tidbit about that hill- it's where Ben and/or Jerry (can't remember which one) learned how to ski.
Too bad the place closed down.

Talk about 2nd and 3rd tier ski stations are where the good and hard-core are at. Dude, you got access to the real goods!!! congrats.

I have walked those hills in Summer. My wife took ski classes (offered thru the Phy Ed department) there. For ski classes are they busing people up to Greek Peak now?

Colgate Univ. in Hamilton, NY. If you're looking up at campus from town, the old trail is just to the right of all the buildings. Pictures might give a better idea...

Campus on left, trail to right-- (you're looking south)

I went to Cortland and took a 1/2 semester skiing class my freshman year at greek peak. Got into an arguement with one of the instructors about not wanting to snowplow like the rest of the class. I even went last trying not to disturb the class

    It went something like this

PSIA dork: Why aren't you snow plowing?

    Me: I haven't snow plowed since I was 7

PSIA dork: me either but I am doing it and I have been skiing for 20 years

Me: so, you are getting paid

PSIA dork: mumbles something and goes back to talking to the rest of the class.

later at the end of the "lesson"

PSIA dork: Ok now lets work on our short radius turns

Me: {to myself] ok I'll show him short radius turns. Also waited to go last as to not disrupt class. skis very fast making as many "Short radius turns" as were possible on my beloved purple 195 Rossi 3G. Stops very quickly and very hard within about 4-5 feet of PSIA dorks tips and blows out of my downhill ski without falling.

PSIA dork: mumbles something about my stance is too far forward

Me: clicking back into my Tyrolia 490 binders "just sign the card so I can go ski."

Oh those were they days... good ol' Greek Peak.

that hill looks like a vertically inclined golf course.

BTW: some nice early stoke for the east.

Hey, uh , why did somebody mow down a little strip down one side of the hill? Not quite "abandoned", is it?
