    Ravenous eating frenzy... wtf??

Okay, is it just me or has anyone else experience a desire to graze non-stop in the past few weeks. And no, it's physically impossible for me to be PG--this production line is permanently closed (thank God) so forget about that!. I chalk it up to three things:

1.) Cold weather "hunker down & fatten up for the winter" instincts carried over from caveman times

2.) More modern and psycho-physically driven subconsious desire to bulk up a bit before season starts b/c I automatically drop a few lbs once I ski regularly

3.) Compulsive reaction to/attempt to deal with deep-seated frustration at wanting the snow, and knowing it is so close, but having to wait "just a little longer" to get at it

It doesn't help that Halloween was a week ago and my son brought home lots of yummy treats that I have to see beckoning me daily from the top of my fridge.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has been eating like a pig. Aw, just say you are because it'll make me feel better!

    Sprite

(and I just scarfed another chocolate but it is low carb--I know, that's lame!)

    I am.

Also been hittin' the draft beer a lot harder than usual these past few weeks.

Oh, yeah: I'll be primed for the ski season.

My suggestion to you is to drink heavily. For some reason, and it probably doesn't help with hangovers, but I find that when I am hungover I can go for super long periods of time without eating. Like let's say I wake up at 9:30am with a sturdy hangover, I can go without food until like 8:00 at night and when I do eat, it almost makes me sick. PBR's and good whiskey is what you need. Like my off-the-boat-Irish grandfather used to say "a cupa warm whiskey will cure what alis ya." Did I spell "ails" right? I don't think I did.

I'm not saying it's healthy, I'm just saying that it might work for you.

lol...I knew you'd reply to that one.

Nah, at 115 lbs there's not exactly junk in el trunko yet. I can't keep it on even if I try anyway once I start to ski.

I actually look a lot healthier, and prefer the xtra 3-5 lbs. If only it would stay (not multiply!), and in the right places.

Vinz, I like your drinking idea a lot...sold!

    Sprite

    Sprite-

I hear ya on this one. In about late September, all of the sudden I had a huge appetite for pasta dishes. All of summer and a bit of spring, I ate absolutely no pasta. And we all know, pasta adds pounds if you're not working out every day. Well, I'm not working out every single day, so it's either cut the pasta, or seriously hit up the gym. And winter is the worst (*)because it gets dark at 5pm and when you're all stoked to go out and run or bike or something, something in your brain says, hey go home and hang out with your roommate (who happens to be a gimp right now and isn't helping the crave to sit on the couch and bullshit while eating dinner) and talk about everything under the sun and eat at the same time. And no matter what anyone says, talking does not burn calories though I wish it did, because then my roommie and I would be thin minis. But anyway, like I was saying, yes, all of the sudden the winter junk-in-my-ass sort of eating is hitting me. And sitting here typing this out isn't helping, so I'll go to the gym directly after I turn off this computer. I'll tell ya, if I lived in the same city as my fabulous boyfriend, there'd be a lot more calories burning, that's for sure.

(*) Winter is not the worst, y'all know what I'm talking about in reference to this subject!!!

With all the cookies you'd be eating, how could that be possible?
