Question From the only Utard not on the mountain today: How was it?

    Soooooo............................

Time to head out to mow the lawn one last time. Get a haircut. Take Erica out to dinner for her birthday (last Thursday). She is 29 AGAIN.

2P, Stoy, how were the Wellsvilles?

    Bird and Brighton crowd, well?

Will be out soon enough, Kaya is still around for a bit more too it seems.

    edit: The only un-injured Utard.

I'm not on the mountain either. I just got back from my health food store - they moved to a new location and have 20% off of everything today. Clif Bars for 79 cents. It was a madhouse.

Very glad to hear Kaya is doing well!

Where are you going for dinner? Mr.AG took me out to dinner last night. I'm not sure seared ahi totally makes up for missing opening day, but it was damn good, that's for sure! Tell Erica happy birthday! That's funny - I'm turning 29 again this december too...

Red Bull got me to clean the house, dust and vacuum, mow the lawn, heading out to get a haircut, wash car, get gas, swept out the garage, cleaned out the car, played with Zanik a bunch while Kaya sunbathed, somehow managed to turn four cans fun of beer to four cans of empties, shaved, retreived a soccer ball for the kids playing in the backyard of the house behind me a good dozen times, and brushed my teeth. Left out a few things, but you understand.

AG, hoping on Roosters. She gets good food, I order something cheaper and drink some good suds. Nazi Budget still in effect, code orange at present time. Otherwise Applebees, Chilis, ....... Pushing for Roosters hardcore!!

Oh, waxed Chubbs with a thin layer to soak in, will be ready to mount soon. Need to sharpen the edges too.

2P and Stoy, nice pics, look like a lot of fun had today. Huge slide!!

Skiguide, nice grab! I had to stay away from the Beaver Ski Swap per orders. Got my ducks lined up though and should be ready within 2 weeks to SKI, thanks to many generous maggots. . Then I need Beaver to open to get turns, pass there. Hopefully I can get a day or two of practice before the MINI, or Alta on MINI Friday will be quite comical for all except myself.

the mountain schooled me today. i don't know what i was expecting, but i thought i'd atleast be able to ski a line down baldy. the place was crowded until about noon, then it was walk on trams. i think some people got fed up with all the extra work of skiing today. the groomers in between the chopped stuff were fast and fun. i had resolved myself to skiing the crud but have yet to get my jump turn legs. oh well, maybe in a few weeks.

Buzz, Buzz...what a buzz today wuzz.
Got two virtually walk-on trams before it started getting a little crowded. Caught the opener of LC Bowl just right. Scored two completely untracked runs in PBowl while waiting for LC chair to open. Got 7th chair when that happened. That feat was a little anti-climactic since LC Bowl had already been open for a few minutes, but it made it so nice to be able to stay up top and lap that puppy until my early-season legs started to fail me.
I was very surprised to get so much untouched terrain, considering what a zoo it must have been yesterday. I guess this is one of those times when the Bird's policy of not opening everything on the same day paid off for the peeps who couldn't come up yesterday.
What a great season-opening weekend for the Bird, and what an incredible opener last weekend at Brighton!
This was the earliest opening Snowbird has ever had (Nov 5th). I really like the aggressive attitude the new mountain ops people seem to have.
Here's to a stellar season everybody!

We got some surprisingly good turns at Solitude today (unopened of course). Real nice old pow on the stuff off of eagle ridge, I think it's called? No crusts or anything, just creamy. We made a couple of laps there. It was a fun mellow day. We've got our eyes on something in honeycomb for tomorrow. APD, you want in?

    Jibba jabba at Brighton

I headed over to Brighton to get my jib steeze on today.

What a difference a week can make. Last week, we were all choking on faceshots of perfect blower pow. This week, it was 50 degrees and sunny. Perfect day for the park.

Pretty fun, and with my early season legs/balance, a bit painful too.

They had the upper park open with a number of new rails and boxes, and the middle park had three boxes and two rails. No jumps as of yet.

It was cool to see Jayfrizzo, Particle, phUnk, and one of Frizzo's friends there tearing it up. phUnk was working on hitting jibs switch. I was working on boardslides and after quite a few tries, finally nailed a backside boardslide with the board perpendicular to the box on my second to last attempt. I'm not much of a jibber, so I was pretty stoked on that.

On a bit of a down note, I watched as a lady broke her arm trying to jib a box. She fell backwards off the box and tried to break her fall by putting her arms behind her. Hope she recovers and gets back on the hill soon.

Sounds like maggots had fun today, great to hear.

EDIT: After Brighton closed, I drove up to Snowbird to pick up my pass. No line at all at 5 PM. Stoked to ride all the way through May on that pass.
