    Back from the darkside

First post and looking for some general advice. I'm back to skiiing after several years of snowboarding, and have been using Dynastar Concepts for the last two years (177cm. I'm 5'10 and 160lbs). No parks, just tried and liked. My plan is to leave the Concepts at home for the East coast, and buy a fatter pair for out West. I'd like to go fatter for powder, crud, and generally anything to avoid the groomed, but still want to be able to easily navigate the glades and bumps. So I'm thinking fatter (84+) for the powder, and shorter (168 - 174) for the tight stuff, and maybe mid range flex to accommodate both. My choices so far are: Fischer Big Stix 86, Intuitiv Big, Atomic R:EX, and maybe Scratch FS or BC, all somewhere between the length range above. Advice appreciated.

BTW, only came back to skiing when I discovered custom footbeds. Can't ski with an unsupported high arch!

    That's kind on an oximoron!

You are the same size as me and if you are skiing anything shorter than 175 cm your crazy, especially out west.

We will need those naked pics of your girlfriend/wife/sister to analize this post closer!

    JONG!

Pics of the Girlfriend if the advise is good, Wife if its okay, and Sister if it stinks!

One way or another, I think I'm going to have to compromise somewhere, so if it's not length, where else?

I have no idea what this means.

Why will you have to compromise on length? Why do you think you need a shorter ski out west? If anything, you need a longer ski to float on the pow and haul ass over the crud. Do you think you will be unable to turn a 175 to 182 cm ski in the trees? A 168 will be way too short for you.

solution: long fatties for out west, skinnier 165's for EC trees if you're having trouble throwing your 177's through em.

I think you're getting too hung up on 'length'. Perhaps I should re-phrase the question:

Out of the skis mentioned, what ski, length, width, flex would be recommended for West coast conditions, including, Powder, Crud, trees and bumps?

Only looking for a recommend, that's all.

I'm with HomerJay, go with the Dynastar Intuitiv Big, just because I'm partial to Dynastar.

I was thinking more Copper, Breck, Vail bowls, and A-Basin glades.
