Cool Thanks to the American Maggots

I have just returned home from 8 weeks of travelling around the US of A being a tourist trying to ski and meeting the Maggots. The idea behind this trip was the invitation to come and visit from all who visited me over the last 2 winters, probably not expecting me to ever turn up. All the maggots I have me have been so welcoming, most of whom I’d never met before. Some I’d hardly heard of welcomed me into their homes. In 8 weeks of travelling I only spent one night in my van, I’d expected to spend most of the trip living in it.

I’d like to thank all the maggots I’ve met. Of special note
Shreadhead - Being the first to give me a place to stay and being so trusting of a stranger.
P’OB - intro to Chicago pub life and Fat Skis
MD9 - my D town residence, letting me make a mess of the driveway and skiing in the rain.
GT40 – being mother the whole time I was in Utah
Lph – putting up with my odd hours of residence
Natty – keeping my trip alive as everything fell apart
Splat - countless things in Reno

I hope a good many maggots can make it Chamonix this winter so I can return a few favours.

I said it over there and I'll say it here-

Tom is the most awesome maggot brother anyone could ever hope for. You have a home at my place any time, for however long.

Few people these days know what it is to be a true ski bum, to travel around the world, forsaking permanence and possessions, comfort and familiar surroundings. But when you are your home and you are willing and comitted to living the life, then maybe you'll run into Tom and realize he's your brother, too. And you will also realize the mastery of the art lives in Tom.

And, oh, yeah, he knows all the best runs in Europe.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Tom. Still can't believe he was all up in smiles and in good spirits after skiing a small glacier with us in pouring rain, sleet, freezing shit, and a little snow during his stay in colorado. Hope to meet up with you again.
