Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature... Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. -Helen Keller

Might be up for Sat. or Sunday this weekend. I'll have to see how I feel after the Beastie Boys on Friday. I would probably leave early AM from Stamford. I have vouchers for $10 off lift tickets.

No Vinman, unfortunately Stamford, CT. I'd rather be in Stamford, NY!Originally Posted by Vinman
As it looks now, I'm thinking I will head up on Wed. nite and ski Thurs. and bagging tomorrow. I want to give them a little more time to frost the trails. It was a bit warm on Sunday from what I hear and I know it will be mobbed tomorrow. Hopefully Thurs won't be.
Anyone else going to be up on Thurs?

Sprite I'll be up thursday I dunno about this weekend, got something on Saturday and its looking like our local hill might open Sunday and the wife would rather work the rust out there then play pinball at K-Mart
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was
Friday is so fucking on for me, I can't believe it.
Hope it's not too mobbed.
Any other NYC sicko (or people along the route) willing to go along for the 9+ hours of driving required for part of a day of crappy skiing, you're welcome to be part of the torture.
I'm looking at you, snorkeldeep. Baseball's over.

Tues.
........
anyone wanna hike on saturday?
as posted in the other thread, ill be up there this weekend, 11/13-14.
anyone else??
oh yeah, hey Dex, werent we skiing knee deep pow up there this time 2 years ago???
Heh, knee deep pow--only a dedicated EC skier could remember it that way. It was definitely pow, and we were definitely skiing it, but I doubt it was ever boot deep (maybe in a few drifts). It was a lot of fun, though. I remember getting wrongfully harassed by the Kmart 'safety' nazis for skiing a closed trail (I think we were lapping Flume, if that's what it's called). I'd be pretty happy if there's anything like that available this time.
You still skiing up there much?

that was it, lapping flume. yeah, maybe not knee deep, but definately fun stuff. im still up there, not as much, seeing how this whole job thing had totally interfered with the ski bum thing. that winter i was laid off, and had 50 weeks of freedom, im back to weekend warrior/nightttime wachusett jibber status.Originally Posted by Dexter Rutecki
