Thinking about doing a Maggot camp

If there is interest, I would like to offer a Maggot's only camp.

It would differ from the regular Straightline Adventures camp (http://www.straightlineadventures.com)in that I would like to try to make it less expensive than the other camps, and try to include a super heavy emphasis on pro freeriders that would join us as guest coaches(see website for a partial list of the pros) .

Also, maybe an even bigger emphasis on backcountry and avalanche safety and bagging the gnarlier lines in the B.C. around Alta/Snowbird, along with still a lot of lift served.

Other than that, it would have a similar itinerary to the normal camp with teaching of steeps techniques, Rossignol demos(2006 B2, B3, B4, and a few B5 Bandits), video analysis, guest speakers and slide shows for the apre ski.

I'd be open to suggestions to cater it to the Maggot's combined interests. Dates are open to suggestion as well.

I'm thinking $375 per person is as low as I can go for the 3 day camp.

The limit would be 24 attendees.

Sweetness, G. I'd definitely be interested depending on the dates, etc. Any mountaineering skills included?

Are you __sure__ you want to do this?
Imagine bridging the gap between proper packing of snow into bongs with incontinental snowpack anal Isis and other Egyptian sluts, grinding your lesbo strap 9100 and deconstruction of chinstrap ideologies.

Imagine the apres ski activities. Do they allow for electric gluhwein above 8500 feet too?

In any event, I'm planning a victory lap around the hallowed grounds per my canonical load trip sometime in early Dec. I would think the optimal time would be the mini, eh Marshmont?

You need to discuss dates in this thread. When can you come?

I think you'd have absolutely no problem filling up the space!!

I'm looking at beeing a bit tight on funds for a while and doubt I could make it out there (or even out to the Mini). However, if I come into some cash, I'd sign up in a heartbeat!

as one of the people that signed up for the regular camp, this sounds even more interesting. im up for it if scheduling permits.. jan/feb are generally better for me than later on.. but for this ill try and get out whenever. can i apply my deposit towards this instead?

I assume the $375 does not include lodging?

What's the initial deposit for the 3 days?

I preregistered for one of the camps, but am unsure whether I can make it or not, money being a deciding factor.

This special edition of the camp, if you will, sounds even more interesting than the "normal" camp.

Although meeting and skiing with you would be an honor, meeting even more pros and skiing celebrities would be fawking awesome.

I'll see what I can do to save the money to attend.

    Thanks,

Late April / Early May so my knee will be healed up...

Anyway, I'd defintely go if I could. Not even a question.

I would definitely sign up. The backcountry/avie part is a big draw for me. Being geographically challenged at the moment, I don't generally get in the bc when I do get to ski so therefore it's been hard to gain experience/knowledge...

If the dates were right, I'd definitely be interested. With any luck I'll be in the area regardless.

I just determined what my first instructor paychecks are going towards. I will be there.

since many of us are in the industry, early Jan. would be a good time since it's after the rush of xmas and late dec. is still school break when all the families are taking time off since they're kids are off til Jan., and dec. is when all our resorts are unlikely to give us time off anyhow. It's also still during the time when the early alta snow's are falling, isn't it. (that is, i think i read somewhere that you folks generally get more pow earlier).

Str8, you're a fucking rockstar for even proposing this. Thanks, man. What a maggot. [sniff]

Some possible weekend(Friday, Saturday, Sunday) dates are:

    December 10, 11, 12

    December 17, 18, 19

    January 7, 8, 9

Akbkcntry and snorkeldeep: you're good if you want to switch camps.

    Deposit would be $250 , 13.

This sounds like a great idea. I'll need to know dates before I can commit to anything. I'm not sure about scheduling it around the mini, might take time away from skiing with others and change the general atmosphere.

    My 2 cents.

Gordy, these are the dates for our TGR Utah Mini Summit. May not be a good weekend with the other activities we have planned, FYI.

We have quite a few people coming for this for the 3rd year in a row.

Is this an opportunity to integrate the camp into the activities?
