Hey, AKPM does your PFD keep you afloat????

Free money for living in a certain area, seems like a leftist policy to me.

You'd think that, basically in the 70s during the oil boom Alaska started a "savings account" (the permanent fund) to use when the oil runs out. A little while later someone (Jay hammond I believe) decided that Alaskans should get a share of the intrest or a dividend. Now our state cannot balence its budget a $60 million gap (except this year, thanks oil prices) the Democrats want to use some money from the intrest from the permanent fun, while the republicans want to have a statewide sales tax.

And of course republicans are more for mining, oil, logging and commercial fishing while democrats are more for tourism and sport fishing and keeping our enviroment. Unfortuneately Alaskan's hold very little value in natural beauty. While you may see miles of untapped wilderness most Alaskans see areas that they can't exploit because there are no roads. Notice how the states with the most natural beauty, out side of the states that have had resourses absolutely destroyed (salmon in oregon california and washington) voted rebublican, and thus anti wild places, and pro developement.

Our only hope is people like you who can look at my photos and appreciate what I and many others are lucky to have. Every time I go to seattle I realize how truely lucky I am that if I go 20 miles strait in any directions there is no human settlement for at least 100 miles. The people in Alaska won't give a flying fuck untill we destroy everything, hopefully people like you do and will vote that way and let your congressmen know.

So say you take a drive 20 miles DIRECTLY north of your house. You're telling me that i'm now 100 miles from civilization? You're like, blowing my mind here.

I once drove 5 miles to the store from my house, and when I got there realized I was 100 miles from my home.
