Its been snowing on and off up at Saddleback Mountain in Rangeley over the week. More is on its way.

A pretty big system is gonna move through the area after this high lifts, probably around thursday. Winter is coming...

Mansfield/Madonna got some flurries lastnight I think. I can't see yet it is still kind of socked in by clouds but it is supposed to clear up today and there were a couple flurries in the air at my house.

Also on a positive note. The rain we got over the last few days has made the rivers rise and that mean snowmaking ponds will also rise. And my Dad always said the ground won't freeze until the water table is up. So if it has to be warm let it rain to get the ground water up.

Great to hear the K is getting fired up. My season is looking real sketchy right now, but I'll try and stay grateful just to get out after the last year I had on the snow. We could be having a nice little inverted storm track this year (with a lot more southern storms) which could mean really good things for southern VT if it stays cold.

Anybody ever buy anything at Ski Market? I should have a $500 or so gift certificate later this month (after the Boston snowsports expo), but I'm more or less set on gear for now, so I could offer 10-20% or maybe more off their ripoff prices depending how much of the gift certificate you could take off my hands...

    From www.Killington.com

SNOWMAKING IS STILL UNDERWAY! OPENING DAY NOW SLATED FOR TUESDAY, NOV. 9!

Unfortunately, the weather in the last 24 hours and the near-term forecast have not cooperated with our efforts and have affected our ability to get open with a truly quality product on Monday. In the interest of providing you, our guest, with the best possible conditions, we have moved our opening day back by one day.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. Think Snow!
