Just to check, this remark is just meant to be funny right? In no way was it meant to be negative on Kerry?Originally Posted by mrw
If you let Canadians decide your election it would be a very uninteresting contest. Something like 75% of Canadians would vote for Kerry even though he is somewhat protectionist which is not in Canadas best interest.
[QUOTE=joshbu]It's a political tactic (maybe coming to an election near you soon!)
Essentially, you always paint all issues in black and white, all the time. It's a great technique for low voter turnout: as long as you can whip enough true belivers into shape, you can take the election.

Actually when negative (American style) ads are used they backfire big time here. Issueing misinformation would be a absolute kiss of death.
When Max Factor offered the Extreme Designer Pickles live on pay-perview, I knew, we knew, that all the pumpkins were laughing and crying because of us! That's right, not just those in portly sizes, lashed to some double knit sales job, squeeging pennies out of pigs, but the common pumpkin who has no better future than to lie in a field somewhere all summer. Growing together, grooving together at the dragstrip of their choice (don't type while eating fruit, the keyboard will seem like you've been porn surfing).
Then along comes fall and they're mercilessly attacked by legions of knife wielding children and housewives. How's that for a future? A fate far worse than being trolled by yet another dumbfuck alias with nothing better to do than pose and pirouette presumptuously at the dactylations of their own twisted design. The Revenge of Aphrodite? The Sales Event of the Scylla and the Charybdis? The aggressive diet scheme of Persephone and the dog food of Cerebus?

As far as the whole majority of skiers being republican, you're probably right. But as we are well aware, this membership of this board does not represent the majority of the skiing public. The honest truth: most skiers like to ski groomed blue squares before heading into the "Village" to shop.

I think what happens with these people is they forget why they became popular in the first place. We wouldn't care who they were, no, we wouldn't even know who they were without the talent or skill that made them actors, singers...performers, in the first place. All they are paid to do is perform. They become popular/get paid when they repeat their performance over and over to please and delight us. That is all. Much like a trained monkey.
But to become what they become, these types of people have big egos. When they achieve a measure of success, the line between their value as entertainers and their actual place in the real world becomes blurred. They think that whatever they do and say must be important. However, when stuff starts coming out of their mouth that isn't what we're paying them to do, it's time for them to either shut their holes or stop entertaining - just like the court jesters of old. What happened with court jesters when they presumed to advise the king's court? Their jesting days were over.
Hey! Don't let the door hit ya on your way out.
Silent Majority would probably be welcome over at Epicski, but if you want to see how the rest of the world would have voted if they could have check out www.worldpeace.org.au/virtualelection.asp

I went out there in search of experience. To taste, and to touch, and to feel as much as a man can, before he repents.
