What happened to the MSN Powder Picture Post?

    http://groups.msn.com/PowderPicturePost

I'm tired of photo hosting sites that randomly shut down and gobble my photos.

As manager of the site I have not received any email indicating the site was in danger of being deleted. I have emailed MSN about the problem.

MSN is playing dumb on this - I'm still working with them.

I haven't visited the site in months and months but I get weekly email notifying me when one of you posts a pic (on October 13th I got a report that Pinner posted 13 pics). MSN will delete groups if they go inactive for a set period of time - 30 days I think - but they will send you a notice of the pending deletion first. I never received notice.

MSN has suggested that I *accidently* deleted it but I know that is not the case. Perhaps someone managed to get in and give themselves permissions - I don't know.

Still working on it - sorry for the hassles.

    My latest reply from MSN:

    Hello Kumquat,

Thank you for writing back to MSN Groups.

I am sorry that your group has been deleted.

Are there other Managers in the group? If yes, then please consult them as one of them may have accidentally deleted it.

Furthermore, have you recently posted a new message, file, or photo in the group? If no, then this is considered as an inactive group and was eventually deleted.

Should you need further assistance, please let us know.

    Sincerely,

    Joean

As I stated before - I had not been to the site for some time, however you all had kept it active by posting pics to it. Either they fokked up or someone managed to give themselves permissions and deleted the site. I can't remember how I had it set up - I think I enabled members to post and delete pics but nothing else.

    Hello again Kumquat,

Thank you for writing back to MSN Groups.

Again, I'm sorry that your Group "powderpicturepost" was deleted . I regret to inform you that once a group has been deleted, the deletion is permanent and the group and it's contents are not recoverable. MSN Groups does not maintain any back up for deleted files and photos due to privacy and security reasons.

I hope that you can find or will create a Group, within the Code of Conduct, that meets your needs. I also recommend that you secure your .NET Passport account and password.

Thank you for using MSN Groups.

    Sincerely,

    Abraham
